Where do you get alligator hide?

I am looking for a piece of alligator or crocodile hide for a sheath inlay.
Can anyone recommend me a good supplier who cares those?

Find a local bowfisherman and see if he has any. Get on some of the bowfishing websites and ask around. I'm sure you can find someone. Goto www.bowfishusa.com and ask around there. You will find me on there too.
 
Try asking in the Traditional Forum. Curing alligator hide was discussed there some months ago.
 
You will have to talk to them about it. I'm sure they can tan it for you or something but you will probably get the whole thing.
 
I just got a personal message on bowfishusa from a guy who recently shot a huge gator. Here is what he said.
I sold ny hide to the processor and just kept the head, feet and meat. He buys alot of gator hides and I am sure he would have some for sale. Glass Enterprises in Camilla, GA 229-881-4074. They are a licensed alligator farm and processing facility and do many gators a year. Mark

Give them a call Alex and ask them what they would sell it for. You can also call other taxidermists shops and ask them if they have any gator or croc.
 
Alex, I do alot of inlay work.I bought a bunch of croc and alligator at Blade from Lyons Den Products. His Phone number is 352-318-1072. Another place is online is here http://www.exotichides.com/, they look to carry quite a bit and the prices aren't too bad, but I have not dealt with them before. Hope this helps.Dave:)
 
here's a good place and the person is awesome to deal with. They specialize in gator, ostrich, stingray, python and maybe more! They charge actual shipping prices and not some crazy inflated prices like some guys out there. All of their product is grade A (unless otherwise specified). The person's name is Jeanne. Good luck. They might have scraps laying around for sale as well and they are in Florida.
 
I just sent you an email from a guy who will get you all you need. I knew if I asked the bowfisherman that I would get a good deal for you. It pays to know people who bowfish. :D
