Where do you get washers?

Surely, some company must make Phoshpour Bronze Washers that work in the Sebenza by now. It's an opportunity to charge a premium on the washer since CRK insists you send them your knife for a month or two...which is completely ridiculous.

Are there alternatives out there? I don't know how or why the decision was made to stop sending out 70 cent washers, but I didn't do it.

So it's ridiculous that for the price of shipping, you can send your knife in and they will fix whatever mistakes you or someone else made when the washers got pinched or lost? It's ridiculous that they will blast the knife so that you have, on some models, basically new scales again, give you a free lanyard, sharpen your knife, clean it, lube it and put it back together for you?
Well Mr. Registered User since Dec. 2016, I'm betting one reason they stopped sending out washers is because some people didn't have the intellect to put their knife together correctly and then would get on the internet and start talking about their ridiculous policies.
Clearly you're much better at customer service than they are.

No smart ass, it's ridiculous to send a piece in for 4-6 weeks for the sake of something worth less than a dollar. Work on your critical reading skills simple jack.

No, YOU think it's ridiculous. Work on having a bit of perspective.

Perspective? Three syllable word. Swinging for the fences
early today, huh?

You're the one that associated post count with credibility and then reference the need for perspective. Go to work...

Alrighty then. Please tell us about your years of experience and the CRK's you have and how long you've been enjoying their knives.

Asking for help with a problem, then insulting someone answering you, is counterproductive. It is also a violation of Bladeforums rules.

I am moving this to Gadgets & Gear.

I hate when someone brings up how long a member has been here.

What? The OP was insulted first in the first response.

If you want to pull the "violation of rules" card then take a look at his initial reply to my thread starter. It reeks of sarcasm and condescension. You wanna put baby in the corner, no problem. But he needs to be standing right next to me. Capeesh?

...I'm nobody's punching bag, whether I've been here 5 minutes or 5 years.

Nfd, that's a minor point. Perhaps his age or educational level would be more relevent. Of course, a request for a source of washers, without the diatribe in the original post, might have resulted in a less contentious answer.

Could we forget all that and return to the actual question?

Exactly! My response was made in that manner because someone brand new comes along and on two occasions blasts the company; once for how long it takes them to return a knife when they perform a free service, and once for their decision-making, which the OP clearly thinks he's better at doing as he says so in his post.

As far as where to get washers....I don't know of anywhere.

What's a minor point? Him being insulted first and you telling him it's against rules to insult others? That's not a minor point that's B.S

That makes two of us. The simple fact that they are a registered user here should be enough.

But what do I know, I've only been registered since last year...

The reasonfor sending inyour knife for a simple thing as washers has to do with the precision made knives.
Because of the way you assemble and tighten your sebbie, the washer needs to be made to fit your individual knife. Sanding them down yourself to fit your knife is something Cr doesnt want happening l guess

You can't just slap washers on the knife and expect the same factory results. Each Sebenza is hand fit, which involves the washers, bushing, and also the blade if I recall correctly.

And on top of that, the washers are basically free. If you want an extra pair I think they charge you a buck fifty, which is insanely cheap. I recommend paying the extra 1.50 to have an extra fit pair for each knife. It will eliminate the need to send it in when you pinch a washer because you followed a YouTube video instead of the recommended way of assembly. I've done it. It happens. You learn and move on.

I believe the registered user part is important as well. Registered user is the most basic form of membership. Camillus72 you are not a RU, you are a Gold Member. Big difference. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry can register and troll the pages with derogatory comments, so yeah I completely understand the attention the OP got for his status.

In the end, you can order washers many places. Use Google, it can be your friend. Just know they will not work properly in your Sebenza, which would probably lead the OP to then complain that his Sebenza is "overpriced" because it isn't smooth or won't hold center properly and then he will have to mail it in to have it serviced which is the initial wait he hated so much to begin with.

Yes, yep, mmhmm, that's right. Everything you said here is true and on-point. The knife needs to go to CRK for washers. Instead of getting panties twisted over how long it takes, they should examine how the washers were messed upin the first place and try to avoid it in the future.

Thanks for clearing up the Registered User part! Yes, I was referring to how long he has been here, but I was mainly making the point that he has no skin in the game when he gets on here and trolls around.

Hell with my question at this point. Where's the close thread feature?

At your membership level you can't close your own threads I believe. Click the report post icon at the bottom left of your post and ask nicely for it to be closed.

To the actual question, there are knife supply websites that sell all sorts of things including washers. Google is your friend. I've replaced washers with mixed results and that was on a knife with no where near the tolerances of a CRK. I'd never try doing it on my large 21. Bite the bullet and send it back to CRK.

Off topic with a side of mod sass rarely goes well....
