Just wondering where everyone gets their steel (I.e. knife store, online, here, etc...)
Me, I pretty much order from online stores because that's where I find the best deal. I like to go to Smoky Mtn. Knife Works ( it's a 45 min. drive ) and play with them there, then hop online if I find something I like. Oh, if you order online do you stick with one supplier? Just something that crossed my mind since I'm looking at ordering a the new piece (the zt 561.... well whenever it comes out).

I don't think anyone is willing to post on this thread, because stating a direct website where you buy your knives breaks some website rule and you get an infraction for it. Kind of dumb if you ask me.

I buy from whoever provides the best combination of price and customer service. That is often a handful of the top vendors on ebay like supreme solution or poor_fish. Ebay seller Belote has good prices, but it ignored a series of emails from me, so I don't buy from them anymore. Bladeforums sellers like gpknives and bladeHQ often have excellent prices, and always first rate CS. New Graham's customer service is so good that they seem to get your order onto the UPS truck before you place it. I don't know how that works. Psychic or something maybe.

I typically go where I can find the best deal. However, the KnifeCenter website has a nice selection. Also, Amazon often has great deals on knives as well. There is also a local knife store where I live that carries an insane amount of inventory. I often purchase from them. They will always match what you can find on-line.

I only deal with two knife brands as far as fixed blades go and I order them direct from the manifacturer if I can . I slao keep an eye on Ebay for deals .

Nobody asked you and nobody is forcing you to participate on this site either, which, in case you haven't noticed, happens to be supported by paying members, dealers, knife makers, manufacturers and craftsmen.

It costs money to run and sustain bladeforums and thanks to the contributions of those members it can remain available to all, even those who do not opt to pay for a subscription.
Those who have paid have earned the privilege of having their work broadcast on this site. (Just as a newspaper or magazine does not advertise gratis.)

That said, the "feedback" forum is replete with information regarding both internet and "brick and mortar" vendors.

If the guidelines are too restrictive for your liking there are other alternatives on the web.

BladeHQ or here at the exchange is where I get most of my knives. Occasionally, I'll look pick something up on Amazon but I like to support the 'little' guys.
