where do you get your G10?

I've never personally had any problems with Jantz, I used to order from them a fair amount. Still do, sometimes. The prices at AKS and USA Knifemaker's (also mostly very good) lured me away.

Most of the time I get handle materials and related stuff from the folks at USAKnifemaker. Occasionally I'll order from knifekits or texas knife. Jantz gets an order once in a rare while, but they have such a wide selection it's hard to beat sometimes. I really need to try out Alpha, just hasn't happened yet. I'm on hold with my folder project but they're going to get my money for the Ti and anything else I need when I place that order.

I'll add in my experience with Jantz. My only real complaint with them is their procedure for delayed orders... and by procedure I mean they do nothing to tell you why/how long your order will be delayed if you have been waiting 2 weeks with no update. It turned out one piece wasn't in stock so they didn't want to ship it twice and charge me more money (thanks I guess) but it would be great to at least get an email explaining that without having to hound them.

All 3 times my orders have been complete, packaged well and not taken too long to get to me (even over the border).

Jantz is OK but I think you have better options

Just to say a good word for jantz, I did order from them two different times and both times the shipping has been mediocre to good, then packaging has been excellent, the tools have been good, and the prices have been better. they have the cheapest magicut files you can get.

I order from them quite a bit since they're in the same state. If I need something quick, I order if from them and two days later it's on my door. The only gripe I have is about their website doesn't show when something is out of stock. I ordered a file guide and a scribe several months ago. The file guide was back ordered. It took nearly two months to get it in. In their defense, they did ask if I wanted a refund, ship just the scribe or wait until the file guide was in. I didn't really think it would take that long, but eventually it showed up.

Other than that, I'm happy with their prices and service. Since I'm new to this hobby, I've bought a lot of supplies and tools off of them and they've been as good as anyone I've dealt with yet.

Since this thread is drifting, has anyone had a billing problem with a company that sells abrasives?

Another for AKS. Good folks providing a great product at the best prices. Plus I always have very pleasant chats with Chuck and Jessica. And I will say I was shocked with just how much G-10 can fit in a flat rate envelope too Johnny. ;)
