Where do you go to get a blade Banned these days?

Since Ban doesn't seem to be regrinding Busse swords these days, is there anyone else doing that sort of thing anywhere near as well? I have a Butaniku that really needs to get stripped and satinized.

I've used Nate at knifemods.com (norcalblacktail here on BFC) for that kind of work, and heartily recommend him. The man knows what he is doing and has serious skills.

Here's an AK from his website:

Have you asked Garth ? He is pretty good at it :)

Good advice! Actually, Garth would be my first choice, because a re-grind by him creates no warranty issues. I assumed you'd already contacted him about that--I know he doesn't re-finish all types of Busse blades from coated to satin, but he does some.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't thought of Garth. They wouldn't sell me one in satin, or even competition, so I figured they didn't do that sort of stuff there.

I had a Ban'd blade once. I forget what it was, even. It was just too silly-sharp and pretty for me. I held it for 3-4 years and then let it go to someone who would be willing to use it. LOL

I think whatever it was was one of Ban's videos. Maybe an AD?

"Stupid sharp" by Ban? This one is S35vn full convex grind with zero convex edge. Thickest part of the blade is .038".

Hair whittling video

It gets daily use in our kitchen, and is the only blade my wife has ever commented about voluntarily--as in, "That's my favorite knife." :)
