Where do you keep your Khuks?

One next to the bedpost, another in my "bug-out" pack, another on my old web gear(never know might need it again :) ) the rest are locked in an old steamer truck along with the rest of my knife collection.

walls, drawers, cabinets, buckets, barrels, closets, boxes, on top of things, under things, outside...you know, the usual places

When not in use, my M43 resides in my library as well - next to my Flashman and Patrick O'Brian books.

"...a snifter of brandy, a book by Ruyard Kipling, copy of Jane's on the walnut table, and a Khuk by your side."

Munk, you said it!

I don't know, a snifter of brandy, a book by Ruyard Kipling, copy of Jane's on the walnut table, and a Khuk by your side.

I'm a little more "low rent".

... a can of Coke, a book by Charles Shultz, a National Enquirer on the milk crate and a Khuk by your side.

The khukuri is a tool for all the social classes. :D

Still the newbie...and after seeing John's wall, bigger pout and a pity block party!

Dang Bruce, it's just an image. I never had a snifter of Brandy in my life, I just guzzled from the bottle.

As you say; all social context.

The Khukuri looks substantial in a world of cardboard and sleepwalking.

John Powell, that is one hell of a wall. I'm glad you're here and sharing your knowledge with us.

I keep all my HI khukuri's on a stand next to the bed where I, the closet khukuri pervert, can reach over and fondle them all every night.:D

reminds me of my second closest scare. I was searching with my fingers, looking under the bed for the earplugs. It was early. Something kept getting in the way. Having crossed it several times, using the obstruction as a Braile map reference, (You know, so my hands wouldn't get lost in the dark?) I came to realize it was a 19" Chitlangi. Marvel of marvels; looked next daylight and there was just a little skin missing from the knuckles of the left hand.

I brought all the khuks inside for the winter so I can keep a better eye on them. Humidity is too low to leave them unattended too long even though we have had a couple of rains. I'm going to let the wife take care of some of the snakes that she hollers at me about. I got her a Sjamboc. That is one mean weapon. I hope she never gets mad enough at me to take a crack at me with it. :)

That wall no longer exists. It is the only room that had kukris (and koras) covering the walls. It got overwhelming and now the south wall is just military pieces and the west wall is many of my "regimental" kothimoras. I am glad that these pictures are appreciated and hope they are a good reference source.

Yes Mr. Powel, a reference indeed.

Pappy, what does that knife you gave your wife look like?

REminds me it is time to oil and treat all my khuks.

fer that refresher pic of the serious collector. I'm just glad I don't hafta oil and wax all those, you got 10x as many khuks as I do on the first wall pic alone!

I see the future, it will be the "Powell Collection" in some lucky museum, or maybe even passed thru yer family!

Munk - The skin removal warning was also given to me by the YCS during cleaning. I thanked it fer the reminder, and focused more on the task at hand. No blood no foul, right?:) You are wise to store them low, as in my experience gravity + sharp khuk = potential disaster.

Ferrous?

gravity + sharp khuk = potential disaster

OK. Kamis cause khukuris. What causes gravity?:)

The Mars mission(s) are incredible, eh? And so much based on calculations of a force no one can explain.

What humans can do sometimes belies what they often do.

incredible indeed. Proof that you don't have to understand a principle or force fully to make it useful.

Yes, I think whatever humanity dreams it can make real. Some sci-fi written over a hundred years ago contains techno-gadgets that actually exist today.
