Where do you measure the blade from??

where are the blade lengths measured from/to on the PBF?? Just aquired one and wondering. Thanks

The actual edge is where the blade is measured.

However, if trying to stay in the legal limit it is my experience that some cops consider the "blade" as starting at the very bottom of the ricasso.
 
i recall hearing somewhere on the boards that its at the begining of the gaurd, wich i assume uses the logic of "the farthest you can stab someone with it".

the comment about the gaurd was that if a knife doesnt have a gurad that drops below the blade, it's measured from the begining of the handle material.


but i could be completely wrong in all of that.
