I live in suburban city where there is about 70-75ft of room all around my house, and i dont want to go to a range to shoot, i was wondering where you guys go to shoot your guns?

In SC it seems street signs are the main target for practice, Though I wouldn't recommend it.
There are possibly laws against discharging a firearm in your neighborhood, And the neighbors won't appreciate it.
I go to the range now, but when I was younger I would just find somewhere to shoot. Powerline right-of-ways were usually where I would go.

AHAH there is no way that i would fire near my house or nigbhors i do go to the range but its a hassle.

I shoot them in my backyard. There is a large woods behind me, and the owner allows me to shoot on it and hunt it.

I live out in the country and have 16 acres. There is a large hill I shoot into.If I lived in town I would have to go to the range.

I shoot mostly organized competition events... practical pistol, and 3 gun...they are staged at dedicated ranges with land line 911 comms, with liability insurance for the range officers, who are trained, and not "ready on the left, ready on the right" kind of RO's....one shooter at a time has a loaded firearm, and you know who the new people are, and make sure they know the gun handling rules....I have access to the range on the days it is closed if needed

I am a member of a range, But I live in the country so I shoot on my property(small sandpit or backyard).
When I was younger I would go anywhere safe( good back stop). One day I was politely asked to leave by a man and with a shotgun.
He explained property owners rights and tresspassing with a firearm.( very politely)
I strongly suggest a range.

I go to my father-in-law's house. It's about a mile away, and outside the city limits. I can get 75 yds (laser measured) in his driveway with a hill as a backstop, so no worries about stray bullets. It's great for rimfire rifles, pistols, shotguns, blackpowder, etc. I do my initial center fire rifle zero's there and then go to an uncle's house to fine tune. I do a lot of offhand practice at the FIL's out to 75 yards. I also practice my field shooting with my center fire rifles at extremely small targets at 75 yds.

My OH neighbors and I shot informal .22 pistol matches with our kids in the basements of our homes - short distances, bullet traps and great fun.

73 now I have shot at public ranges, some Cowboy Action Shooting matches and have been a hunter since I was a yout'. When I retired 13 years ago I joined my local club which is considered to be the premier shooting club in our state[FL]. If you shoot a lot, join a club or find a safe public range.

Our home is on 10 wooded acres in a rural area however I do not shoot here. Folks moved here to enjoy peace, tranquility and safety, something to recommend that..when we lived in St. Louis County, MO it was not uncommon to hear gunfire at 2-4 a.m. - kind of went with the sirens. All in all a great place to live and raise a family but certainly not all neighborhoods/areas.

Used to do the same thing in Chicago. We had to go out of town for the powerline right-of-ways. I learned to use a rifle shooting 22 CB Caps from a friend's second floor apartment at a stop sign across the street. Sitting back in the room with the window half closed took care of the noise outside and turning up the TV took care of the neighbors. Too bad they don't make CB Caps any more.

I live in a pretty rural area and shoot most of my firearms in my pasture in fact I was just out there 10 minutes ago testing out my new 410. but if you live in town I'd recommend joining a shooting club/range and (if your a beginner) getting advice from more experienced shooters.

Being in the military and having to move often, I've found this same problem many times. Managed ranges cost money and usually have limitations on rapid fire, ammo types, etc. Check to see if you have any wildlife-management areas just outside the city; they often have ranges for hunters. Missouri has some of the best ranges I've seen and if I'm not at our Post range, there is a great range (no fees) in SC that is in a national forest and well maintained; alsi it allows me to do different shooting techniques. Do some asking around at local gun shops as you may find someone with a private range that would be willing to allow you to shoot.

Handguns and shotguns, back yard. High power rifles, over at my parents place...but I am working on something here at my house.

If I can't get to the indoor range, either of the outdoor ranges, or the sportsman's club, I just shoot in the basement.
I do not recommend you do the same though. Hearing protection, good ventilation and an adequate backstop are essential.
