Where does Cold Steel Trail Master made???

Who in Japan makes the San Mai Trailmaster?.

The blade shape looks identical with the Fallkniven Thor. Different handle, but then, that is an easy feature to change. As I understand the Thor is made by Hattori. Is Hattori making knives for Cold Steel?

Fallkniven used to be one of the European distributors for CS. They did not carry a knife like the Trailmaster other than the CS model. They canceled their CS distribution then 'lo and behold, they have their own knife called the Thor that is an exact copy (except for the handle material) of the Trailmaster.

Is it me, or does something smell rotten in Denmark... er... Sweden?

Better they are built in China than by some unionized parasite more
interested in "job security and benefits" than in quality. Also, many
Asian companies started from ground zero with state of the art factories, not old buildings full of antique tooling thanks to WWII and US aid and expertise. Factor in a work force that's smart as hell and willing to work unbelievably hard to better themselves...you get the picture.

And Hattori makes a Bowie knife that has the exact same dimensions as a Cold Steel trailmaster, down to thickness, width, and length, but uses the same handle as the Thor. Hattori uses the same AUS6 steel that the old Japanese made Trailmasters were made from, the difference between the Hattori bowie and the old Trailmaster was the Hattori has a concave grind and the blood groove.

I would not be surprised if Hattori was and is making the stainless Trailmasters for Cold Steel.

Yeah, 'unionized parasites interested in job security and benefits', the nerve of those people. That's surely what's wrong with this country.

I know a bunch of union workers that care very much about quality. They also care when people are told to work in ways that can injure them, union or not.
As far as quality cars are concerned American cars get top marks. We still remember the 70's. That has changed.

As long as we buy foreign made products munufactoring will keep going overseas or south of the Rio. Who's gonna buy quality knives, cars, homes when so many people are out of middle-class income jobs and are now working in the service sector?

Politically speaking, do you want to send your American dollars to China. Not only have they stolen (or bought) military secrets and show the desire to conquer America they have one of the worst human rights records in the world. Go Red China!

RooT'awg!

Toyota is about as good an example for cars as McDonald's is for steak. They do great business, but as far as the product is concerned, they've perfected the art of a bland, efficient, toaster of an automobile...an appliance for people who hate cars.

Speaking of lowest common denominators though, "Where does Cold Steel Trail Master made???" Where does your English made? (Hint: not next to the triple question marks)

Yeah you guys. Why would you bring up somewhat bland-looking extremely reliable cars? Obviously we should be talking about the awesome looking ones with racing stripes that need major service every 5,000 miles. Now THOSE are REAL CARS for people who love cars!

Wherever that knife is made, it looks cheap. I don't know if that has more to do with the country of origin or the greed of the manufacturer, who seem to be testing how low they can drop the quality but keep the price the same.
