Checkisout!! http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=479676

I checked with T.A. about where he aquired said Scales-O-'Dillo and his source dried up since he left the Blade Show.

Does anybody know of someone selling it? I don't want to have to walk along the hiways and biways(don't even say it IG :D ) of Texas pickin up roadkill to make some DIY.

that reminds me of an old aggie joke....

How many aggies does it take to eat an armadillo?
Three. One to eat it and two to watch for cars. :D

I'm glad I'm not an aggie. :D You do know you have friends in Texas. :D I'll keep an eye out for some roadkill dillo for you.

I could have got you a fresh one today and it even came with a side of live water mocasin. Strange things you see in all this rain. Mike

Hmmm...I bet. I wonder if the growth rings on an Texan armadillo will be wider this year with all that rain. :D

If you took your Hi-heels off:eek: , you would be able to walk further.HEHEHEHEHE!!! I didn't want to say anything about the mini-skirt and fishnets.  ;) :D

Dangit! I KNEW you would have to say something about that :D :D :D you predictable ole fart. It was an IG trap to see if you were paying attention:p

Hey dude, figure out how to process and stabilize that stuff and you could become like an oil magnate(dillomagnate?), only selling mass quantities of armadillo shucks instead. You might want a hook to get people to buy your wares kinda like Colonel Sanders. I'm thinking an armadillo hat. See my artists rendition below.:D

Having only seen armadillo in the zoo I thought they all had brown scale like plates. How would you think the scales on T.A.'s fine slipjoint were processed ? I'm asking about that knife and for the knifemaking industry in general ?? Stabilized ? Dyed ? Bleached ? Tanned ? ;) Are they all that color ? Thats the first knife I've seen with armadillo scales. I like the look a lot   Nice knife too, real nice

I bought several sets of armnadillo scales at Blade last month. They are roughly the same color.....but he dyes to different shades of brown and some black. It stinks just like bone when ground. Yuk. :D

What's that growth on that armadillos stomach? Is it cancerous and in need of removal? :D

Having never seen an armidillo other than the pic in the road painting accident... I thought they were furry.!

Having seen them my whole life, I know they are mostly gray and can be a light brown at times. They do have some hair on them. Also, their back is so hard that most .22 cal will not penetrate it. It bounces right off (someone actually told me this). Also if you happen to run over one it flattens really easily. :D

Also, they are a bit of a pest. They tear up your lawn while digging holes searching for food. They look funny running away and even hopping away. If you have never seen one in the wild and chased it to make it hop away you are missing out. Its hilarious.

They tear up my yard and I've shot many with my .22s. Some bullets will ricochet but most get the job done. We got way too many here.

May have to go into the dillo scale business:)

I've never had a problem with 22cal bouncing off of them, but they usually will run off into the palmettos or get in their hole regardless of shot placement. On a serious note, aren't they a carrier animal for leprosy? I've always heard that here in FL. If not, it may be time to thin out the population on the farm in the name of handle material.
