Where have all the "Plain Jane" 21s Gone?

Just like most of you Sebenza collectors, I love all configurations of Sebenza. I did hear that the 21s were now discontinued but I never expected them to vanish so quickly. I am mainly referring to the "plain jane" 21s. I literally went down the entire list of CRK authorized dealers and I found ONE that wasn't sold out, and it was in Europe and cost over $700.00 after the Euro exchange.
It is amazing how fast such an iconic knife can totally vanish from our dealers and even more from our current collectors. If you have any input on the subject, I'd love to hear it as in my opinion they are GONE. Even on the CRK sellers page, none can be seen. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me, as I've always loved the 21 and now it appears to be gone just like the Regulars, etc.
take care, and collect on!

When the 21 have been discontinued i bought a couple of configurations I didn’t have: a plain Jain insingo and a black micarta tanto

I think I will try a 31 at some point but I love the 21 so I feel no hurry to pick a 31

Sorry you are running into walls, OP. It was the news that they were discontinuing it that finally pushed me over the edge into getting one! (No regrets.) Hopefully you can track down a good example on the exchange.

There probably was not a lot in the supply chain to begin with and when they were discontinued then the remainder were snapped up.

Might give you a good reason to buy a graphic or inlay. The plain Jane is never visually attractive to me.

Sebenza 21 is quite popular, and I think in a lot of people wish lists (like mine :) ) was this knive. So when production of 21 was stopped many of them decided to get it (like I am :) )
My two beauty produced in the begging of 2020

combination of it's popularity, discontinued , and some not caring for the new 31. I believe they have been gone for awhile. After seeing the price increases of past discontinued Sebenza's I am sure some stocked up.
Early bird gets the worm :)

A combination of users, collectors, and opportunist picked them up. I have a 21 (Knife Art CF) I'm holding onto because it's a 21 but I've had nothing but good experiences with the 31 and prefer it to the 21.

When I went to buy my first CRK, I was thinking I would go with a large PJ Sebenza. This was back in November 2019 right after they were discontinued. Spark didn't have any PJ left, and I figured I would see how the Inkosi felt. I ended up loving it. I still wish I could have gotten a new 21 when they were available, but I have really grown to love the lock up of the Inkosi. Actually, I think I will snag a 31 of some flavor next month when I pass through Louisville again.

I think collectors just gobbled them up as soon as word came down that the 31, which is different enough to rattle some folks, was going to be the new Sebenza model.

I want a PJ large CRK and they are hard to find right now. When you do find one, they are almost as expensive as new.

I dont want one with inlays, I like the simple lines of a PJ. Although I would take a Doppler.

CRK fans are strange bunch. I say that with tongue in cheek because I’m a CRK fan.

It seems like every time CRK comes out with a new improvement, people are always worried that it won’t be “as good“ as the previous iteration. I think that when they released the 31, people snapped up 21s thinking that the 31 may not be as good.

I own/owned old Sebenzas including the 21 and now the 31. To me they’re all good and even though it’s too early to judge the 31 I don’t think it’s any less of a knife than the 21. In short, I think people snapped up the remaining 21’s thinking that the 31 would be inferior but I just don’t see that yet.

I snapped one up because I had wanted one for ages, and vacillated endlessly. When I realised they were going to be phased out, I predicted that there would be a scramble to buy the remaining retail stock. Turns out I was right. I am sure that the 31 is an excellent knife, but I wanted the 21.

I noticed the same thingvabout two months ago. I wound up buying a pj 31 instead. I really wanted an insingo but I don’t think that on a 31 is available yet.

my guess: The majority into people's safes, and/or displays; some into their pockets for use; and a very few lost where there is a zero or less chance of recovery, such as while boating or float tubing, climbing a Mountain, TSA/Security took it, or while falling down a mountain with a board or two strapped to their feet. (I believe they call the last two "skiing" and "snowboarding".)
