  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Where Have You "Pulled Out Your Beckers"?

With respect to Germany... I was in Fulda, visiting my mom's family, last fall (a year ago). My cousins and I got to talking about handguns. I mentioned I had some Glocks. When they asked which ones, I responded with, "a 17, a 19, a 26, a ..." and went on from there. I thought their eyes were going to bug out of their heads. I love Germany (spent half of my growing-up years there), but don't understand their stance on weapons. Shortly after WWII, maybe; now, not so much. Still love the place, though. I mean, *love*. Feels more like home than the States do.

The few people who've seen my BK2 have all gone like this:

And then came the obligatory:

"Is that legal??!!??"

And then I say:

"Nope!" ;)

Sweet mark on the hawk BRL and nice mods to your 11. I do like being the go to guy for the knife, except when somebody says "Is this thing sharp?" and slices off a chunk of their thumb. Tennessee is a great place to carry knives cuz everyone accepts them as an EDC object. Milwaukee wasn't the same. when I lived there 5 years ago folks' eyes widened when you'd pull almost any kind of knife out.

I whip out my big 9 inch Becker everywhere I go. Makes men jealous and women nervous.

I try not to "whip one out" depending on the audience. My friends and family still aren't completely desensitized but have come to expect I'll have at least one knife on my person. I try to always have either my Vic Climber or Buck 55 on me for such discrete occasions. Don't always want to pull out a fixed blade, ya know?

My wife on the other hand, I have no shame. I've started using my Eskabar as a utility kitchen knife/ personal steak knife. She's become used to me whipping all kinds of things out :D

I whip out my Eskabar pretty much all the time at work. Ive used it to open boxes, strip cables, cut drywall, fix lunch. Pretty much anything!
I used to get some strange looks, but people have pretty much stopped wondering and commenting now.

I had a contractor comment the other day that my knife (Eskabar) was what he used to call a toad sticker! I imagined it tied to a stick and used as a spear. I couldnt get him alone to ask him what he meant by that...
