I got this cart built. Heavy. Capped the top with stainless for any moisture. I need to mount the 2 x 72 grinder , disc grinder , VFD, the belt and disc rack not important. I only mounted the rack. This is a bit heavy on the slide out handles so gonna move 2 x 72 to the rear, do I want it hanging over rear, or over the side in rear ? I do know I want that weight back there. Then where should my VFD be ? Disc grinder ? Thanks for input. I figure I am gonna do most grinding outside with fan blowing behind me, and a mask.

Engineering wise, put the 2X72 over the wheels with the arm centered and the edge of the base plate at the edge of the cart. Place the dics grinder centered and at the edge on the handle end. Place the VFD on a post between them to the motor side of the 2X72 grinder. If you mount a round post up from the cart, and put a matching hollow tubing foot on the VFD, you can swivel the VFD to face either device. A simple clevis pin or something can be inserted if the VFD rotates too easily.

I would not have the disc grinder facing 180 from the belt grinder, or the belt grinder will be filling the fan side of your disc grinder motor with sparks/shavings.

I like the idea of the 2x72 being centered in the rear. I hadn't thought about the metal dust off of the disc grinder. Now I gotta give it some thought. I will have a fan blowing past it, but still don't want it situated wrong just in case I do some closed in area grinding and no fan.

I wouldn't worry about the sprks from the grinder affecting the disc grinder motor. It is TEFC. A simple spark shield on the back of the belt grinder would eliminate the problem if you are worried.

I mounted them the way you suggested . I also welded and bolted the VFD on a piece of pipe so I can turn it to face each machine. Very wise suggestion, thank you.

I am gonna have covers for my machines, so when one not being used it will be covered. I will probably make the disc cover with aluminum sheet metal, I have a small brake machine.
