Where Is Everybody?

Great to see you around, STeven.

You are and always will be a catalyst for dialog. You have a gift for clarity which I only wish I had, and you have had the limitation of no filter, which invokes collateral remarks.

It's a double edged sword! ;)

Spark Spark : In regards to limitations: The BF software could be SO MUCH MORE USER FRIENDLY, if it contained a photo resizing tool within. Upload whatever from phone or PC, and it comes out at the proper file-saving size.

Is this possible? Don't other forums do this? Right now we have a 500KB posting limit. Cell phones have bigger (and better) cameras every day, and they aren't downsizing.

C&H is an important part of the handmade world scene. It's the only area which doesn't have 'stock model' images to search for. Photos are crucial.

You are correct Coop, Xenforo(the forum software used here) has all sorts of options for doing this very thing and a whole lot more i've seen on other forums using Xenforo. Pretty silly to not do so here, along with increasing file size limit. but pretty easy guess as to why...

I think I could make a fairly persuasive argument that C&H is pretty much the tip of the spear, or has been, for some time
Like any spear, works best when kept pointy

The next software upgrade should allow for this

I love this place

It has introduced me to so many dear friends

I have not had my presence of old but sometimes life gets in the way

A lot of the makers that are not present anymore gravitated to easy quick forms of marketing that are simple and quick

Instagram has beat all forums up

It’s free and relatively mindless

Ill always be around this forum ...its home

The reason I don’t do the projects anymore is time and knife makers are notorious for not finishing them :)

It was a ton of fun though and i never minded upping my membership to do so

This is a great place and Lorien is a great mod and I appreciate him taking on the role

Some of us have gotten old on here :)

I came to this forum to sell my knives, there is no secrets here. I knew i must pay and i did it. I've renewed my subscription yesterday for the second year.
I love forums. I start my way in knifemakign thanks to the extinct "armasblancas.com" forum from Argentina. It's a shame that forum had expire. It had the same problems than this one, the growing of social media, the greatest knife makers leaving it, poor actualization, etc...
Neverthles, i beleive that we the users don't appreaciate the effort behind this sites. That's why i paid my subscription right the way, to suport that effort.
The other problem, at least in my case, is that i'm a lazy reader, and being spanish my native language, reading/writing in another language is worst. So i do not use to write a lot of feedback, sorry.
I hope this forums never dies. I miss the other one a lot, and as JParanee said "it felt like home. I learnt almost everything i know about making knives thanks to the other forum (the comunity from the forum). Maybe you don't dimmension that, but it would be a terrible lost not having this forum.
That is my opinion, however, i am barely new here.
Best regards.
