Where is our folder?

I find it hard to pay 150 for a well made reliable and sturdy folder when a Bk14 is $35 and I never have to worry about it failing. I'm hooked on fixed blades...

let me break it down for ya...

everyone SAYS they'd buy a Becker folder for $200, and some of us would, but most everyone, esp "not the fans" would whine about it, and ... it would stall.

let's say $150? more competitive, yet, we all know you guys want a Chris Reeve knife for < $100. not likely to happen.

it's going to be made IN America. by Americans. with probably American steels. you can't get that cheap.

if we get a folder, it's going to be special. you're going to have to pony up. no whiners :) whiners want something for nothing. go buy some Spydercoco clones, 3 for $10 ;)

heck, it might even be limited edition. unless it completely sells, then they'll do more :D

I completely agree with you here. Honestly, the blades I use (folders) end up being between $60-$90 street price. There isn't a lot of space to work with there, but I'd be willing to settle on a mid-range carbon stainless (something like CTS BDZ1 (a very close match to AEB-L (AEB-L is a razor steel that can take a very fine edge and so is CTS BDZ1) ) or CTS BD1)

I would love to see a high end folder like anyone else, but I doubt it would get any use. I buy Beckers because of their capability, warranty, price, and quality and a folder should have the same thing. If it is a sprint run, I MIGHT buy it, but if it was a production thing, I might be more apt to buy it...
