Where is Sanrenmu 763 w/ G10?

While not expressly banned from conversation in the forum rules, any knife that infringes on American copyright or patent law hurts our hobby. The Ganzo, Sanran, bee knives do this when they claim the axis lock. Further the Ganzo 710 is an exact copy of a BM 950 Rift. Just different materials and branding. Recommending such a blatant rip off and copyright infringed knife that hurts our hobby will get you some flack here, and deservedly so.

Now, The 3 big Chinese companies do make some of their own designs. I even recommend the Enlan EL01 quite a bit. I own one and it is a good knife. Still though, the company that makes it is questionable at best. These companies also more than likely produce the out right counterfeits of the PM2, dragon fly, and many others.

And do you have an issue with recommending Benchmade, which I believe got into some trouble with Spyderco over putting holes in their blades?

Go do some research on the subject if you want to understand more about what happened there, I won't get into it much here as it is not really relevant since BM and Spyderco are basically competitors on the same price level. IE, its not like BM is undercutting Spyderco by a factor of 8 in price while stealing their design. The two companies reached an "agreement" on the matter and it is a non-issue now.

The issues I am raising are very different.

I like the Enlan el04 mct. The micarta type handle is pretty nice. It's great for $14. Definitely not on par with my Spyderco knives but the one I got is pretty nice for the money. It's useable and I actually enjoyed carrying it. The blade is thick though so I had to thin it out a little to improve performance.

After I read this I looked into this knife and decided to pick one up. I paid about $20 with shipping from China. This is actually a great looking knife. The axis was pretty tight out of the box though and almost difficult to operate so I took it apart and carefully bent the springs a little. Now it's perfect. Boy I love this knife. I may mod it further by skeletonizing the liners more to reduce some of the weight or thinning the blade to increase performance like you said.

Thanks so much for the great recommendation.

I have both of the old 763 versions

I must say that I prefer the G10 knife. It's lighter and more grippy.

The thing I find so remarkable is that Benchmade makes the HK knife line, with the exception of a $25 model sold in US sporting good stores which is actually a SanRenMu T21 with HK markings.

I suspect knife people get more worked up about this stuff than Benchmade does.

So I am new to the forum so I hope I don't get crucified, but I am thinking of checking out some of the high quality and affordable knives coming out of Chinese companies like Sanrenmu and Bee(Enlan). One knife that caught my eye was the Sanrenmu 763, mostly due to the capable axis lock (no I cant afford a Griptilian).

So my question is, where did this knife go? I searched on Ebay and can only find the aluminum handle. The only g10 version I found was going for $60 and that was from a Chinese seller. This leads me to believe that these knives are no longer in production.

Like I said i am new to knife collecting so I don't know the best places to look but it seems to be that this knife isn't out there anymore. Can anyone tell me why? Also, should I just go for the aluminum handle? I was hoping for a lighter knife. Maybe someone can recommend something similar. I really want an affordable EDC with a capable axis lock. Thanks

There are a couple on eBay for about $60US.

Seriously, it kind of defeats the purpose of buying a cheap folding knife at that point. You can get a Cold Steel Hold Out 2 or 3 for less.
