If I remember correctly, that is the stuff that smells like cat piss. I used it to glue plastic to metal and I had to chisel it off when no longer needed.
Something else to look into is G2 from Lee Valley. it comes in large bottles for reasonble price, it takes 24 hours to cure and according to Rob! on this furum, will withstand restaurant style dishwasher abuse.
Didn't the Devcon epoxies fail the glue wars miserably?
I did'nt keep up with everything during glue wars( I think I got a contact buzz) I just know I have been making knives for about 5 years and never had a failure. I think theres a lot to be said for preparation. Like making sure every thing is nice and clean before even mixing the epoxy. Beadblasting the tang is also a nice touch. There is no better way to clean the steel. Thank's to everybody for all the info. I think everytime I order from Jantz I will have them throw in a couple of tubes. And yes permatex does smell like cat-piss.
