Where is this S35VN?

Hey guys, I've been seeing a lot of threads here lately in which people are talking about this S35VN? I have yet to see a Sebenza with this blade steel, even at Reeve's shop. I am planning on either getting a large Sebenza or a Umnumzaan here very soon as my small Sebenza doesn't scratch my itch. Can someone tell me where these knives are?
 
All of the new ones made are made with the new blade steel.

Have you tried calling a dealer and asking?

No, i've just been looking at the descriptions onlione and I have yet to see any stating that the blade is S35VN. I'll try contacting a few and ask if they have any in the newer steel.
 
FWIW, I ordered an umnumzaan in S35VN, but they will not make it with that steel until their supply of that knife's blades in S30V is gone. Guesstimate is about two months.

But IIRC the sebenzas are now all sporting S35VN.

Looks like a Large Sebbie it is than. Thanks guys.
 
Large and small Sebs, ProSo, maybe some of the other Reeve/Harsey knives are showing up with S35VN. Bear in mind that there are a LOT of NOS Reeve knives out there for sale. I recently bought a BNIB large Classic inlay from a dealer with a 2006 card.

I was just considering this. I'll probably order directly from Reeves and request the new blade steel.

That will work, but only if they have run out of S30V blades for the relevant model. They've been (understandably) using up S30V blades before producing new S30VN blades. :)
 
I picked up one from PlazaCutlery. Just send some emails around, I'm sure the owners of whatever business would be more than happy to look it up for you.

Or better yet, order it from Chris directly :D
 
Picked up Large Seb 21 from Monkey Edge about a week ago and it had S35VN.
 
I am thinking about buying a Large Sebenza and am wondering if there is an advantage to buying the new knife with the S30V versus the S35VN? I just ordered my first Sebenza (small) directly from the factory, I assumed I would get it with the S30v, but I'm not really concerned if it arrives at my house with the newer S35VN. I really don't know if it makes a big difference either way, but I do know of a new large Sebenza 21 in S30V and was wondering if I should buy it.
