Where my Protech Peeps at?!

I also posted the following in the General Recent Acquisitions thread a few weeks ago.

----------------------------------------------------------

Just acquired another Gen 2 version of a classic bali.

The 1st was the Cold Steel Arc Angel 2 that I mentioned above in Post #22,154 & I also just received the newly released Protech FlyFather 2 which has been made in collaboration with Squid Industries:

The FlyFather2 has a feel similar to my Squid Industries Weehawk Kraken.

However, it's a lot smaller, lighter & looser than the Weehawk but I'm still happy to add it to my bali collection.

Here's what ProTech had to say about it on 10/02/2024 on Instagram:

"We are bringing back a very rare classic in an exciting collaboration with Squid Industries. The FlyFather makes it's return at BladeShow West. A true collaborative project, the FlyFather uses both of our company's expertise to build this unique balisong. Calling on the vast experience of Squid Industries, they crafted all the top features that flippers are looking for, creating an extremely solid yet smooth experience. The overall design is a scion of our signature Godfather auto, with a sleek bayonet ground stiletto. 100% American made with the precision & quality you expect from Pro-Tech.

The first handful of the FlyFather will be available at our booth during BladeShow West. Quantities will be extremely limited, so be sure to head over as soon as the doors open! We are also sponsoring the West Coast Flipping Contest this year, so be sure to check that out during the show on Saturday!
----------
The FlyFather features durable 7075 aluminum handles with black anodizing, stiletto in 154cm, steel bushings with bronze washers, zen pin system, & DLC coated mini deep carry clip with multiple clip positions."

The only other Pro-techs that I own are a Satin/DLC pair of Strider autos & a tan Dark Angel.

This is a pic of my 2 Pro-tech Striders, above an original 8Line SNG Strider, which are identical in size with the original:

And this is a pic of my Dark Angel. Would have preferred one in black & had prior ops to buy onr but for some reason didn't follow up on them. Won't pass up another op if one arises:

The auto Godfathers, Striders, Dark Angel & FlyFather2 are all of the Pro-techs that I own.

The Mordax is ridiculously fun. Deploy and close with the button with a flick of the wrist, or flip with the flipper - it's such a well-oiled machine. It's also very light and carries amazingly well for its size.

The Malibu would be way better if they would thin the blade stock and adjust the geometry. Everything else is perfect.

Yep, I love the Mordax!

Man alive, I genuinely love Protech autos. My first good, useful auto was TR-3 I picked up for $150.00 at the Fort Worth Gun Show. The darned thing still fires just as hard 11 years later and I'm never disappointed by 154-CM.

I later bought a BR-1 "Magic" Whiskers and use it as my preferred dress knife. A simple but excellent design.

Truth be told, I'm not wild about most of Protech's other designs save for the Brend 1-3. I'm kicking myself for not jumping on the last run of Brend 1s. Superlative design and size.

Idk if I'm right, but I think Protech still makes some of the best and most affordable autos on the market. I want them to continue to succeed.

You should check out the integrity, it's a great manual

I think I might purchase a TR-4 for myself as a Christmas present lol 😆 I’ve been looking at them a lot lately, I really like big knives, and that one looks like it would be a good slicer. And I have zero Protechs in my collection
