I just want to inform everyone here to inform everyone they know NOT to
buy knives from www.discountknives.com

The gentleman who runs it, Brian Skelton, is not interested in
servicing his customers. I had a rather long battle with him over an
order I placed, and finally had it resolved through my credit card
company, on the advice of my lawyer.

If anyone wants the full sordid details of this fiasco, let me know.
Otherwise, trust that, although he's got good prices, he's not
interested in customer service, or even filling your complete order.
Again, DO NOT buy from:

www.discountknives.com

Thank you.

Brian C. Hager

Thanks nice catch. :)

1st post, 100th post or 1000th post it doesn't matter. A bad experience is a bad experience, and isn't the GB&U the place to discuss both good and bad experiences. A search of Discountknives.com in GB&U reveals both good and bad experiences, the majority expressed do seem on the ugly side.

So it's not unexpected to see someone else complain, with the same complaints others have voiced, regardless of their post count.

Welcome to Bladeforums! Pay no attention to the peanut gallery.... Next time you consider buying from a dealer you're not familiar with, search this forum (The Good, the Bad, the Ugly) and you can find what experiences others have had with that dealer. With a little browsing around you can find many with better reputations than Brian Skelton....

Excellent advice and very true.

I posted also regarding discountknives. Do not order from him! I should have known better and read a bit on the good, bad, and ugly forum. He simply does not ship nor does he respond to emails. I had ordered a mini Grip for a birthday present, long lead time, and simply no response. I finally gave up and ordered from another outlet (and at a better price). As I said before, this guy deserves to go out of business. That way his parents will regain use of the closet that he apparently uses as an office.

I too got a bad service from discountknives.com
Beside I din't understand their pricing strategy at all. They compare their price with the competitor's price plus shipping.

Fortunately, I did not order anything then.

STAY AWAY FROM DISCOUNTKNIVES.COM .... No one answers email or phone... This place won't be around very long! I learned the hard way.

Someone I know ordered from Discount Knives and is now expressing some worry about his order. I think it's been about five or six days now. I would think, from my own ordering experiences, that one should have an "in-stock" knife within a week or so.

Anyone got a phone number for Discount Knives?

I've ordered from them before and had no problem, but it's been awhile.

Good luck, everyone!

Karl

From a whois search. It looks like Brians phone number is included.

He's actually on this forum somewhere; or at the very least reads it. (But never replies to these complaint posts.)

I know this because I've posted things in the "Wanted" section of this forum and he's emailed me offers. I just politely replied "No thanks."

I've had a number of less-than-stellar experiences with him ending with one really poor one where I simply never received my order or an answer to several emails. (My CC was never charged.) I'd rather pay the extra 5% I'd be saving to get good service and receive the item a few days sooner.

I ordered from there a few years ago. Shipping was delayed and I got no replys via phone or email.
