Where on your belt do you wear your sheath?

For me it depends on the knife.
The Rambo II knife (in the seldom occasions when I carry it hanging to my belt, because usually it is attached to the backpack) stays on the left / rear side (just like I used to do with the bayonette when I was in the army).
Otherwise, I used to carry a regular outdoor knife on the right / rear side.
But the fixed blade I carry the most nowadays is my Komondor and this one stays on the left / front side, at 45°, handles forward.

Depends a lot on the sheath.

- Scandi type dangling sheaths I wear on my left (weak) side, along the jean outseam, since I need to grab the sheath with my off hand to be able to withdraw the knife.
- American pouch sheaths I wear in the same position. When I make my own pouches, I tilt the belt loop forward a few degrees to fit this position.
- Military type drop sheaths I wear on my right-hand side.

Lately I've been making high-rise leather sheaths with the belt attachment entirely below the handle.
- For a small knife, I wear it on my right hip and angle the hilt forward some 15-30 degrees.
- For a longer knife, I wear it on my left hip and angle the hilt forward 45+ degrees.

I also have a small Dozier in a horizontal kydex sheath, which I wear just to the right of my belt buckle.

I carry either a small fixed blade in a kydex sheath either horizontaly front-right or back-right - same if carrying a multi-tool in a horizontal pouch.

Where does one get a nice leather sheath like that?

Carrot, got a reply. Yes, he still makes the sheaths. He doesn't do much with Ebay right now because he is so busy. By the way, the ones like I posted (plain, no tooling) run about $50. A great deal, I think.

Most knives don't have to be sent because he already has one to use as a mold. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you get one. Here is his website:

Sweet! Thanks bladeprince.

I carry my RAT3 vertical rightside hip just forward my SOG powerplier. I find this most comfortable for belt carry. I have also carried it around my neck when no belt was available.

Sheath knife and/or multitool goes on my right side, just behind my hip bone. Small sheath knives often go in my right front pants pocket with a lanyard going from the sheath's belt loop to my belt or belt loop.

On the rare occasions that I am wearing a pistol to the woods for some target shooting, I like it butt-forward on my left side in front of my hip.
