A zillion years ago I got some Corby rivets.

I can't remember where.

When I bought them, I also bought the matching counterbore. The shafts are .125", and the heads are .236", and have 5/64" hex drive rather than the usual slot. I much prefer them, as the drive is positive and works well with a small cordless drill, which can't be said of a slot, especially when everything (including me!) is covered in epoxy during assembly.

Any of the standard slotted versions that appear to be the same size aren't - the heads are usually a few thousandths thicker, and they won't work with the counterbore I have.

How crazy is this? It's just like me to find something like this, thoug, that's for sure. If anyone has any ideas, it'd be great to hear from you!

Thanks!

Jantz? I have some like that, but I am thinking that the head is smaller. They call them micro-corbys

Matt I am looking as well. I have a bag of the exact same thing. Just used them for the first time yesterday as a matter of fact. Love em. Hex drive too. I'm looking....hold on.....

Mini corbys is what I remember, but I didn't get them from Jantz. Where are they.....

Thought for sure it was USA Knife...now I don't see them

Maybe I DID get them from Jantz. http://www.knifemaking.com/category-s/369.htm

Pop's has a good selection and makes his own counterbores. Jantz, TKS, K&G, Knifekits, tec. also carry them.

A big "Thank you" to Stacy for turning me on to those things. I really like the idea of a mechanical fastener in addition to the epoxy.

Yup, I know all of those things - my question, specifically, was looking for some with .236" heads. As far as I can tell, no one has them anymore, which means I need to order new ones and a new matching counterbore.

...sigh...
