Also, how would this knife's blade profile fare in skinning and cleaning fish?

After looking at the blade profile I do not think it would do good at cleaning fish or skinning for that matter. Doest have a belly.

you know right after i got mine i saw the santoku i use in my kitchen and realized that's where i had seen the blade shape before. Originally i couldn't tell if it was a modified wharncliffe or a sheepsfoot or what but you sir are dead on.
