Quick question because my friend's wife in Washington. I asked her to try to buy me a Old Timer 8OT, she looked in some places but can't find any. I know it's a matter of a second hand mostly, but she is not into a knives and I don't want to take too much of her time there.
Could anyone help?

Schrade went bankrupt in 2004. All new schrades since that time have been made in China. The blade steel is stainless. The quality is OK, the design doesn't quite match the originals.

If you want one of the current China versions, most large on-line knife stores carry them.
If you want one of the originals, then someplace like eBay is likely your best source. Or a pawn shop.

Thing is I want usa made one. Maybe there are some places in Washington like second hand shops?

There are several USA-made ones on ebay (like Knarfeng said), many appear to be in good condition (some even better). If it says USA on the blade tang, it was made in the USA. The Chinese ones aren't marked with a country of origin. Just don't go by the sellers description, because some descriptions say "USA" even though the knife isn't. You have to look at the pictures.

Ok, that's kinda akward 😂

I know how to recognize us made.
I know how to buy online (or search for it).

I had an idea that while she (my friends wife) is in Washington DC (I am in Poland, Europe) she could buy it for me in a shop/pawn shop/physical place (like a real store). Shipping to Europe is very expensive so I wanted to give it a try. But maybe there are no such places in Washington 🤔😔

So thank you for your answers but that wasn't what I was looking for 😔

Your friend certainly should be able to look up what pawn shops or antique stores there are in her area, other than that, why don’t you make a post in the “Wanted to Buy” area of the forum and have it shipped to your friend who can send it to you (a lot of members don’t send International due to foreign laws and lost packages)?
