Hello everyone, I would love to have a couple of Boker Kalashnikovs and a Kershaw Launch 5 but I am not law enforcement or military. Autos are legal in Texas but not legal to ship across state lines so that makes the internet sellers off limits for me unless they are based in Texas. Does anyone here know of some good places to buy auto's in Texas? (Online or actual walk in stores). I live around Beaumont but can go out to Houston. Any help would be appreciated.

Knives Plus in Amarillo.

But, I think that "not being able to ship across state lines thing" is total bunk. I've ordered plenty of autos from places not in my state (which happens to be Texas as well).

Order an auto from bladehq.com and see if it doesn't show up...

Thanks AntDog. They don't show any autos on their website and they are a looooong way from me.

No problem. They most definitely have autos! Tons of them. I was just there a few days ago and saw in person.

You can always call @ 800-687-6202. They're very nice folks. If you don't get the info you need, ask to talk to Troney if he's there. It's very fast shipping to your area.

I've had autos shipped to me here in California from a couple online dealers. They should definitely send to Texas.

Hi Shawnee, I'm just NE of Houston, and have ordered autos from Blade HQ as well as others, with no issues. I think you'll be fine. Good luck and have fun with your purchase.

I've bought autos from Bladehq and several other sites without issue. Also a Texan. Thanks again @Critter and Kniferights.

Thanks everyone- Yes I know I can get auto's shipped to me "no problem" but I still have to check the box at checkout that says that I am LEO, Military, Govt employee, etc. which I am not. The state transport law is obviously outdated being from 1958 and before autos were legal but it's still a federal law. Will they come after individuals who lie? Probably not (especially since they would go after the sellers first). I just don't want to cross that line.

I called Knives Plus today and apparently the retail store and their internet warehouse are two different locations. They only sell autos in the retail store but don't ship form there. They have discussed selling autos to Texas residents but don't at this time. :-(

I just googled the knife you mentioned and several knife retailers popped up. Go to one of the sites, click add to cart, checkout and wait for the little brown truck to arrive

You secure your house? You're "private security" ;)

I have been to House of Blades in Fort Worth many times and can advise that their online inventory is a tiny fraction of what they sell at their physical location. But that is a ways from Beaumont and I cannot verify what they currently have in stock. Perhaps you should call ahead.

In Austin, McBride's gunshop, Sportsman's Finest, and the Banana Bay (army surplus store) all carry autos but I think they rotate their inventory relatively often. Definitely call ahead before you make a trip.

If you come to Houston check out Carter's Country gun shop on the Katy freeway (this is the location I am familiar with, although they do have other locations). They have added a separate case full of autos from Benchmade, Kershaw, Buck, maybe Hogue, Protech and a few others. Full Armor Firearms (also on the Katy freeway, but a little further West) carries various autos including some Microtech OTFs and Hogues.

I cannot recall seeing Boker Kalashnikovs for sale at any gun/knife shops I have visited around Houston or Austin, but I have not been to all of them. If you get the chance I would recommend coming into Houston for a gun show - there is usually at least one exhibitor with a selection of various autos from Boker and other "budget friendly" brands. But beware, several exhibitors bring piles of counterfeit and/or knock-offs to each show and market them as "Chinese Microtechs."

If none of those options are viable, then I suggest you try to order from an online retailer or an in-state dealer and see what happens. I wish you the best of luck in finding what you want.

I also forgot to mention that Athena Gun Club (again, on the Katy freeway in Houston) has a Benchmade dealership with a selection of autos. I'm not sure what other brands they sell but might be worth a look.

Again, good luck and I hope this helps.
