Where to buy micro Allen wrenches?

Try MSC Industrial supply. I bought a set of small torx wing style wrenches made ny Wiha, a German company. It includes a T6,T7,T8.T9,T10,T15 and a T20. Excellent quality.

I love my Wiha sets! Excellent stuff, like "they used to make." I got mine on amazon for good prices.

(PS: Wiha is short for the founder's name, Willi Hahn).

Wiha is the brand that the moderator of the Kershaw Facebook page suggests over and over again. I have two of the Husky models with the double ended bits that store in the handle, and have had really good luck with them (purchased at H-D, btw). Yesterday, I picked up a Craftsman set (not just bits, but dedicated mini screwdrivers with permanent handles, to be clear) at Sears, and when I checked the fit in screws, there seemed to be very little slop, so I would imagine that they would work well.

I bought this cheap little 44 piece set at the monopoly of brick and mortar stores of walls (was unsure if this was deal spotting so I said it weird like that) a couple weeks back for well under $6-$7. I use it all the time at my work desk in the house repairing this and that as well as on my knives.

It comes with:

Star: T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10(X2), T15(X2), T20(X2)
Slotted: (1,2,2.5,3,3.5,4)mmx2
Pz: Pz00, Pz0, Pz1
Phillips: #000, #00, #0(x2), #1(x2)
Hex:0.7, 0.9, 1.3, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4mm

I do not use safety goggles and supposedly it can give me cancer. What else is new?

I have to ask, what store was it? For the price, they sure seem to be worth a try!

Go on Amazon.com and search for "Wiha Torx drivers". You'll need a T6 for the body screws and a T8 for the Pivot Screw. These will cost about 6 bucks apiece, will last a lifetime, and will virtually eliminate issues with stripped screws.

I am pretty sure the scallion is put together with torz bits, if you try to use an allen wrench you will rune the screws. Either way I got a "precision bit set" from best buy that is the best knife tool kit I have had

For what it is worth, I have had much better results with the "bit" type that take a bit in a magnetic driver, than I have the "driver" type, where it is all one piece, like a regular screwdriver. They seem to have better tolerances and hardness on the bits than the full drivers. Lowe's version with the double ended bits works well for me.

Seriously guys, this is some of the best advice for any knifeknut here on the forums.

This is what I have done. I still don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Just go buy them.

Wiha, buy it once get a big set with torx, phillips, jewelers screwdrivers etc. I have 3 sets of crap, only one that
i would recommend. It did not come from Lowes, HD or Walmart

Wiha makes a Torx set that goes from size 1 to size 8. Wera offers 1/4" hex drive bits in many sizes that are quite portable and accurately sized like the Wiha stuff.

As said (several times) before, Kershaw uses torx instead of allen wrenches. Allen wrenches will work, but you can do damage to the screw heads if you don't use the right tools.

I got a small Kobalt driver (blue and grey) and it has something close to ten different torx sizes that store in the handle. Every size I've ever run into with any of my knives is in this thing. It's cheap and comes with a lifetime warranty. Pretty much anything I could need for knife maintenance.
