Hey guys i always hear the witty remark of SMATCHET! But where can one actually buy a quality smatchet? Which company makes them?

Do any companies currently make a Smatchet? I know Boker did at least somewhat recently, and Al Mar before them. Case made them once upon a time. The Bark River Clax is certainly Smatchet-like, if not truly a Smatchet.

Atlanta Cutlery/Windlass Steelcrafts makes a replica of the original.

That's it! I'm gonna make a smatchet! I'll get back to y'all with some pics. I'm thinking L6 saw blade to start.

I think FortyTwo sells a smatchet on his site. I could be wrong as I'm not entirely sure what a smatchet is. I haven't really warmed up to a machete yet. Maybe in the future I will.

Cold Steel makes the Shanghai Shadow which is a light-weight Smatchet looking knife. I've got two, and although the edges are prone to chipping, I still like them, especially my newer one, which came with a securex sheath.
I've wondered for quite a while why CS doesn't offer a full blown Smatchet. It seems to be the kind of knife that would be right up their alley. [ of course I would buy one]

Nah. No Smatchets here. Maybe you're thinking of the Baryonyx Machete? ;)

I guess it does have a bit of a Smatchet-y feel to it though. :D

Awesome good luck!

I'm surprised there isn't a go to place for a smatchet. I imagine them to be awesome fun even just to hold and bask in its smatchet glory. :P

Please do not use the general discussion forums for where to buy what threads. It might be a good idea to look at the guidelines in the stuck thread at the top of General.
