where to buy san mai bar stock?

I was looking around a wanted to know if anyone sells san mai steel?

preferably looking for a 1080 core with a semi stainless/stainless "bread" steel.

Im not even sure if its practical or could be done but maybe 440c with a 1080 core.

anyways it would be great if anyone who knew could chime in.

That would be an unusual blend. You could contact a few damascus makers for a special batch, but it wouldn't be really worth it.

There are stainless side san-mai made for knifemakers with Yasuki steel cores and suminagashi sides ( damascus look). Also, san-mai with soft iron sides and high carbon core.
Dictum and Workshop Heaven carry them.

yah i wasn't too sure if stainless and high carbon would be a good mix but It was a good thought I guess
