Ive seen knifekits.com and usaknifemaker and trugrit and a couple of others but I cant find a large selection of micarta. Usually just black and brown. I dont have a respirator system so I dont really want to work with g-10, unless respirators are cheap or something.
Stabilized wood I can usually find but not in large selections. I wish I could find somewhere cheaper though. I guess this stuff is just naturally expensive though.
And i tried making homemade micarta but I dont have a press and a brick on top of some linen didnt come out very good.
Thanks in advance.

you need a respirator for micarta aswell.

They're only like 25 bucks, and you get at least 3 hours of pretending to be darth vader. so in the long run its worth it.

You should have a respirator even if you're just grinding metal. Belts have silicone and even many woods are hazardous when ground. I also get wood from alpha and Jantz has some good colors of micarta.

I guess ill have to go and buy a respirator then.

I havent been able to find the more exotic micarta colors but if im going to buy arespirator anyway maybe i should just use g-10
Does G-10 have any other special rules about its use? Gotta wear along sleeve shirt? I hear it shapes just fine.

Both Knife and Gun and Texas Knifemakers supply have many colors of micarta.

clean it up good when done. Do not ingest.

It's moderately nasty stuff.

There was somebody on line in the forums that was selling Micarta awhile back. If I remember correctly they some good prices too. Just forgot who it was.
