I am looking to purchase some CPM M4. I ahve found it precision ground at McMaster Carr, and also for sale at Alpha Knife Supply. Where else can I look to purchase some M4, I want some options if possible to get the most bang for my buck.

Thanks
Chris

If Chuck has the size you need and you don't need a huge order, it's very likely the best bang for your buck. I have often bought steel from AKS and have always been happy.

If you need CPM M-4 please call me at the office. Ph# 862-203-8160

As for the Web Site, we are feverishly trying to get something up and running by the end of the weekend. We apologies for the inconvenience. The site will be getting a face lift over the next month or so and other items will be added as the year progresses. I hope you like what we do with it. It should prove a useful tool in the future.

We have a sheet of .170" Bohler S690 (powdered M4) arriving next week. We also sell Crucible CPM M4.

The Bohler powder metal steels are made using their third generation powder metallurgy. The 3rd gen powdered steels have extremely fine granules. Steels made with finer powders are tougher.

Here is a link to our M4 inventory:

We measure each piece of steel so you know the actual thickness, not a thickness range.

Call us up to 10:00 pm pacific 7 days a week.

Chuck - off-topic question: do you have a pic of the CF Sub-hilt fighter? I was telling some folks about it the other day, but couldn't find any pics on the net.

It took me some time to find the photos also.

Here is the WIP thread at CKG:

The handle is made from a 1" thick block of carbon fiber. David mortised the tang. David is holding the knife in one of the photos. He wears an XL glove. The handle is custom fit to my hand. One knifemaker called my hands "Meat Pillows". ;)

Here are a two photos:

The knife is not engraved yet. Tom Ferry said he will do the work. It may be some of his grotesque engraving or maybe Celtic artwork.
