Where to Download Free music?

Wayyyyy off topic here but I am certain of your help.
Got an MP3 player some time back and finally have a shop worthy stereo that can use it.
Where is a good place to downlod free music?
 
You might want to be careful with file sharing sites - it is possible to download copyrighted music. Most file sharing software also allows others to download it from you, which is the basis of multiple recent high profile lawsuits where bittorrent users have been held liable for hundreds of dollars per song. There is some decent music available for free, particularly if you like indie music. See http://www.soundclick.com/, http://www.last.fm/music/+free-music-downloads, etc. Or look at individual artists, like http://www.jonathancoulton.com/ or http://www.nin.com/albums/ for individual free downloadable songs.
 
i used to "borrow" music from others using frostwire and limewire but now I just go to the itunes store and go to podcasts and I download free music podcasts! You can subscribe to them also so when a new one is avail it notifies you! Not sure what type of music u like but check that out! Its free and legal!!
 
Or if you want... you may or may not use youtube to listen to your music.

Then you may or may not be able to extract said music from youtube by going to this site http://www.video2mp3.net/

Then you may or may not save said file to your computer and use it in your mp3 player =)
