Where to find a Military in M390 or other rare steels

I've decided that I will finally purchase a Millie after carrying a PM2 for 6 months, I searched google and online blade stores for an M390 Millie to no avail. Will I only be able to find it in the Exchange sub-forum for example? Or any other knife forum with an individual sales section? I'm totally okay with an S30V Millie but I have never owned any Spyderco with a an upgraded steel such as M390, M4, CRUWEAR, ELMAX, S90V, etc. and I would like the Millie to be my first Spydie with an upgraded steel.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

EDIT: Also, what should I expect to pay for an M390 Millie? Surely a hefty amount more for than the regular retail for an S30V one

Seeing as they sold out of dealers quite rapidly, I'd have to say your only option is the exchange here. Expect a premium for all sprint runs, especially so for the m390, as it to have become a very sought after steel, and from what I read, for good reason.

You essentially late to the party. Those knives were released in the years past and your best chance to acquire them are to buy them on Bay or the Exchange, there won't be much more specific answers in the forums. The best time to buy them is when they first come out, it's a hell of a lot cheaper too. The M390 Military will effectively set you back roughly double what it went for originally.

bbs still has the blue g-10 s90 in stock - s90 is right up there as far as the premium steels are concerned. The only sprint run I see popping up on the exchange with any regularity at a not too inflated price right now is the cruwear. Expect to pay, as noted by other posters, a premium for the other sprints that came out. That being noted, the s30 version is a great knife - this is my favorite production steel from Spyderco.

So what's wrong with BBS anyway? Shady, bad customer service, hard to place orders?

Extortionary pricing plus they charge shipping! Personally, no matter how exclusive their exclusives are I'll pass!

The KnifeWorks exclusive Para-Military2 CTS-204P and Dark Green G-10 Handles was $150 shipped!

The BBS exclusive Para-Military2 Elmax and Foliage Green G-10 Handles is $199.95 plus $12.95 for shipping for a total of $212.90!

So, for the KW version you get a better steel and pay $62.90 less!!

Sounds like Mall prices. Is it a brick n mortar store?

Kershaws, I honestly think your best bet is the CRUWEAR Military or the S90V Military.
Best bet in terms of locating them from an online retailer or auction seller (or even on the exchange forums).

As others have said, the S90V Blue G-10 Military is currently only available from one online retailer. Others have mentioned it above. You will be paying full price, close to $300 after shipping.

The CRUWEAR Military should set you back a little under $200, so it's the clear winner in terms of cost.
I think the CRUWEAR Military is an awesome knife and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed if you go that route.

And for another comparison the BBS M390 Para2 was $180 + shipping. Basically BBS is charging what they think the market will bear.

As for the S90V Military vs. the M390 model, I thought I understood that S90V was a step above M390.

In terms of edge retention, yes, probably so. M390 is very nice too though...

In my experience spydercos m390 and s90v have about the same edge retention. Im going of my use of m390 milie and s90 manix xl. Unless you get the original s90v with carbon fiber, m390 beats the bbs blue g10 s90v milie imo.

Maybe we will see a new sprint of the Millie soon, and you'll have another chance to get your very own rare steel Military. It was around this time last year that the Cruwear sprint came out so fingers crossed for a new one soon. We've had I believe 3 sprints of the PM2 and a sprint of the Manix 2 this year so maybe the Military is due for one. :)

I hope you are right uofaengr. I wouldn't mind a Millie in 10v since I don't see myself ever getting a K2. I'd love to try out the steel.
