Where to find a Military in M390 or other rare steels

Maybe we will see a new sprint of the Millie soon, and you'll have another chance to get your very own rare steel Military. It was around this time last year that the Cruwear sprint came out so fingers crossed for a new one soon. We've had I believe 3 sprints of the PM2 and a sprint of the Manix 2 this year so maybe the Military is due for one. :)

Wouldn't that be nice. I'd be all over that. My Military collection is growing growing...

I know about chasing Millie Sprints!! Last count was 9. I can't tell much difference between the S90V and the M390. The Millie isn't thick enough to push that hard to tell. Once you get above about 300 push cuts on rope, I feel like it becomes a mute point. :-)

To the OP, don't underestimate Spyderco's S30V. I personally have conducted several rope cut tests with identical edge angles on Millies. I remember the S30V outdid the Cruwear. I also did an M390 vs M4. M390 won, if I remember correctly, as it should. But, S30V, darn sure held it's own! It no slouch steel. If you want a GREAT Millie, consider S30V in titanium. I'm telling you, that knife will hold it's own against knives that cost almost 2x as much. IMHO. I have darn near every Millie, and 2 of some. Spyderco nails the HT on all their steels.

I know in my heart the differences are minor but I just can't help myself. :). So far I have the S30v, M4, M390,HXP and the Cru. Just ordered the plain Ti S30 and I'm excited. What's left??

Yea I've thought about that but...well....you know. :) Who knows...maybe.
I get the hesitation, but one thought - I bought one of the S90V seconds - seemed like a reasonable price if you love S90V (as I do :) ) and I don't have any idea why it was considered a 2nd. Great knife and the lower price made it a little easier.

For those who have the M4, I'm completely jealous. The M4 has eluded me for the longest time. I also recently added the BG42 to the chase list. And if I'm not mistaken, there is a 440V also? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Been wondering what constitutes a second, and how random it is.

You are missing the lightest they made; the S30V carbon fiber (with just one liner):

The BG42 one is CF so the ? can be edited out ;)

They also made them in ATS-34 (satin, black G10) at first

The military sprints can be addictive I've managed this lot so far,
There's no doubles in this pic and I don't have any ats-34 and still need a plain edge 440v!!!

One I would really like to see is a k390 sprint so fingers crossed it's in 2015

That's one heck of a collection Rusty. Anything you have that I don't have on the list just yet? Also, i'm with you, here's hoping for another sprint run of a Military model soon.

Speedseeker, there's a 440v full serrated with one liner, and black g10 s30v half serrated in my pic you can add.

There was also a forum military with the logo on the scale if you want to add that? Unsure of the steel on that model??

Titanium Fluted is arguably the nicest looking Military. Now, that plus S110V would be killer!

I am a big fan of spydercos CF so that plus S110V would be a must have, but given there are other options for S110V (Manix2 LW is a great knife), I'd really like to try some spyderco 4V and the millie would be a great platform - a long thin blade like the milli might really benefit from toughness of 4V !
Please :)

You all are making my mouth water with all this talk of S110V and 4V. :-) We can certainly hope. I will no doubt be in on whatever the next one is. IMO, and I know folks will disagree, the Cruwear was "meh" to me. I have one just because, but S110V or 4V would ROCK!
