Where to find a specific Old Timer

The geese are pleased and are slowly retreating back across the river...well actually they have finished cleaning up the couple of pounds of corn I tossed them but the other sounded better....

Just wanted to udate with the situation. I received the wonderful Old Timer from Mr. Absintheur. I have been EDCing for about two weeks and I must say I love it. I have been using it for opening mail and cutting my apples, and several other small jobs. It has developed I nice patina, which has a shinny strip down the edge. The blade holds an edge like any good ol' high carbon steel blade would. The springs function with authority, so I am not sure there was a need to put a liner lock. I guess it was just an extra safty measure, which I like. I know this pocket knife will be one my son will have one day, but not any time soon :D.

Thank you again Mr. Absintheur

There is a small story behind that knife. My Mom was a tireless worker in the church and would often do much of the work for the rummage sales. That knife was one she found in one of the lots of donations. She gave it to my Dad who later gave it to me. I was happy to find it a home were it will be used and maybe one day become an heirloom knife.

You have a very cozy little corner of the world. It looks like something that Norman Rockwell would love to paint. It is the heartland of this good old U.S. of A. and it shows in the way you treat people. It makes me proud to live in the part of the country everybody else flys over.

My Father and Mother taught me the values I live by and even tho Mom passed last summer her values of giving, morality, and caring still live in me. My Pop's values of freedom, protecting family and country are still being taught daily...or perhaps I should say being re-enforced daily. I think there are many good folks out there in these United States and in other countries as well, this forum shows us that...we just need to try to pass these values along to our children and who ever else we can.

Amen, brother! Well said.
