Has anyone seen an Eze Lap Sharpening Rod (Model M) for sale at any of the common chain stores? I've checked Gander Mountain, Dick's Sporting Goods and Walmart, but no luck. Trying not to order online if possible. Thanks!

It's worth looking for !!! Mine is maybe 30 years old ! Has the CA address. Worn fine like a 1200 grit stone ,perfect for touch up on the great PM steels ! Get it !

Well Cabela's has the gerber version, which kind of sucks compared to the Ezlap. Other than a actual knife store I'm not sure who would carry them. I know online that sportsman's warehouse, amazon, mid south shooters, and smokey mountain knife works all carry them. Depends on whats near you, sportsman's warehouse used to have a actual store near me but they don't know.

Thanks Dave. Unfortunately, none of your recommendations have a store around here. It would probably have to be Lowe's, Menards, Home Depot, or Ace Hardware at this point.

I looked on Eze Laps website and those were just some of the listed vendors, maybe a northern tool would have it.

I went ahead and ordered one of these through Walmart. Picked it up yesterday. Very high quality and US made. Love it!

Directions say:

"Lay blade flat on diamond abrasive surface elevate blades spine slightly, (approx. thickness of blade), rub in a circular motion periodically alternating sides."

Before I use it, do you all agree this is the best technique for this sharpener?

I also use the normal sharpening steel method and it works fine. I have that pocket one and the full sized Ezelap diamond sharpening steel (about 10 or 12 Inches long) and have yet to wear them out and have had them for probably 30 years or more.
