Where to find quality shouldered and threaded standoffs for an EDC folder?

I have been looking on USAkm and Knifekits for 4/40t standoffs but not having much luck without getting a standoff that is too large a dia. The folder I am building will be my EDC for both on and off duty and 2/56 just seems a little small to me. Are most makers making their own standoffs or is there another place that sell quality threaded and shouldered standoffs and spacers? Is 2/56 strong enough to last?

You haven't said what diameter you want.

What does too large a diameter mean to you ?

They're an standardized fastener and you will usually find them all the same.

USA Knifemaker has .1875 diameter stand-offs threaded 4-40 (not shouldered) I wouldn't use any thing smaller. I do like the shouldered .1875 with .125 shoulders...they are threaded 2-56

The .1875 shouldered in 2/56 are what I have now but I cant find a 4/40t shouldered in 3/16ths dia or 1/4 threaded.

This is my first folder and I have everything worked out except what I will do with for the stop pin and standoffs. I am considering just making a short Ti spacer and tapping it for 4/40t however I still need a bigger stop pin. I like the shouldered standoffs for ease of the build and the added strength and if I had a metal lathe would just make them but for those of you building the folders have you seen much difference between using them and not?

The shouldered ones in 2-56 should be fine for your application. The shoulders provide the lateral strength and the screws just squeeze everything together.

Thanks Chuck. The heads of the 2/56 just look so small in relation to the rest of the knife but yes on the reason for having the shoulders.

I don't know, but 2-56 seems almost the standard screw for folder builds. I would go with those.
