Where to find steel info?

Where can I find a good list of all steels used in production knives. I'd like to see a matrix of characteristics and liabilities. Thank you.

I'm not a bladesmith (but I play one on TV...) so I'd prefer not to get scientific.

Buy or check out from the library "THE COMPLETE BLADESMITH" by Jim Hrisoulas. Published by Paladin Press,

He has a whole section on the charateristics and chemical composition of the various blade steels that is extremely readable and understandable. Besides that you'll find lots of other interesting stuff there about knife making.
