More thoughts on this matter........
There is a much less expensive way to go that will work almost as fast...
I would suggest to anyone that is tapping tool steel, Ti., Stainless or other tough stuff, use a tapping fixture!! They are also available from most of the machine shop supply catologs (www.mscdirect.com),etc.
They will provide good feel with the small taps and keep the tap square to the work.
I would also suggest that once you get good at tapping, try some of the more expensive, high performace taps. They will out last the cheap taps 20-1, in Ti.
Last, contact the cutting fluid manufactures and ask for samples, I find that different people like different fluids for the same materials! This is very important when tapping knife components. Plus, a sample will last a while!!!!!
