Where to get kerambit?

Anybody know where I can get a kerambit. I've tried some martial arts supply websites, but the searches come up empty. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the site info. But that blade was a lot bigger than I had in mind. Maybe I'm using the wrong term. But the knife I'm looking for has a fingerhole and hooked blade that extends just beyond the finger and then another coming from just under the bottom of the hand, allowing for attacks with either the forward or backhand stroke. I believe it was used in the Gunsite Tactical Edged Weapons II video. Anyone know what I mean and where I can get one?
Kev, the site was outstanding. Thanks again.

That sounds like the Szabo Kerambit. You'll have to call them for a catalog. The Kerambit's prices are $150 and $65. I think one is custom and the other is semi-custom. Here's their contact info:

Masters of Defense make Graciela's version of the kerambit..The LADYHAWK..a great little knife!
Datu Kelly makes an impact DTL kerambit...
Laci's are very cool. I have several of his made by Black cloud..Hes got others making them now..so I second the opinion on getting one of Laci's!!!!

Silverfang-If you don't want to put out a lot of money initially and just play around with this type of blade to see if you like it,United Cutlery makes an inexpensive Gil Hibben reproduction. I think it may be called the claw but I'm not sure. Smokey Mountain Knife Works always has it in their catalogs for about 20 bucks or under. It is not in the same class as the other blades mentioned but neither is the pruce and you can see if you like this type.

First of all mucho thanks to everyone who has answered this post. The insight is invaluable.
Second, I looked closer at the Gunsite Tactical Edged Weapons video and the kerambit in use looks like has only one blade extending from the bottom of the fist. It is curved and may be serated on the inside, can't tell really. Anyway the blade isn't more than 2-2.5 inches in length.
Again thanks for all the help and expert advice.

If Guro Steve Tarani was using a kerambit, in all likelihood, it may have come from Pak Herman Suwanda or Guro Dan.

Try that, see if Pak Herman has any left. If you can, train with Pak too. He is great.

Laci's kerambits are awesome. They are very well thought out and fit the hand very comfortably. The grip is secure and the design makes these fearsome tools.

Wonder if a spyderco harpy would work.
Obviously it doesn't have the finger hook,
but I wonder if such a thing could be added
as an aftermarket addition, perhaps a ring at
the end of a wire in a P shape which would be
attached to the handle with epoxy resin, the
tail of the P going into a groove on the side
of the handle. That harpy is a bloody nasty
blade.

Thanks to all who've helped me in my quest. I managed to pick one up at a store that caters to the Dungeons&Drangons set (or is that sect?) It's a cheap model made in Pakistan but I only wanted one for my collection. (I'm still going to check out Szabos stuff,)
Asauang,
Thanks for the Harpy idea. Being a folder it's a little easier to explain. (I'm a medic, it's for rescues) Besides I got one of the pink delica's for my wife and she hated it. (Women, go figure) I'm going to see if I can trade it for a Harpy.
Once again thanks to all,
Silver

The kerambit used in the Gunsite Edged Weapons 2 video was a custom made trainer made specifically for Steve's huge hands. The blade extends for over four inches in a long curve.

Steve is still working on a production kerambit trainer. Romi and I have one of the prototypes.

Steve's training kerambit is now available on a limited basis. It is made of CNC machined, aircraft grade aluminum. I do not know what the cost is, but here is a picture:

For ordering or more information, please call the West Coast Academy at 714-775-0200 and ask for Steve Tarani.

Hi All,

If you go to my site (labanbaston.cjb.net) and follow the merchandise link you'll see that I do training kerambits for £8.00 plus postage and packing. Hopefully a picture of one is included in the message! If not, there are two on the site.

Just wondering: The training kerambit shown above on this thread; might make a nice impact weapon, good for hooks, and deflects and it's gotta be great for nerve pressure points.
I have no formal martial arts training, just what I've picked up from defensive tactics classes I've had at work.
Thoughts anyone?
