Can anyone point me towards a source for a tiny compass to use in the butt of a knife handle? I have a buyer who asked if I can do this and I don't see a problem with doing it as long as I can find a decent compass to use. I won't use a cheap plastic compass or anything like that and so far all I can find is a brass button compass made to use in rifle stocks but it is 3/4". That is a bit larger than I'd like. I was thinking more like 3/8" or so.

Thanks for any help.

What size do you need? I have a couple that are around 3/4". I had to buy a pack of ten of them but only used one so far.

Safta, that small brass one looks really good but $35 is a little steep for this project. I doubt this knife will ever get used and I doubt he'd be willing to pony up that much for the compass addition. I'm going to keep that one in my notes though. Thanks.

B.Finnigan, that looks like what I'm looking for but was trying to get a smaller one since this is going to be on a small knife but I may just have to work around it. Can you send me a pm or e-mail and let me know how much you would want for one or two of those if your willing to sell them?

Thanks,

You don't have your email turned on. The compasses are in a small triangle piece of plastic but you can cut them out real easy with some small wire cutters. The were compass key chains originally.

Keep in mind that unless the compass is detachable all it will do is point to the tip of your knife unless it's non magnetic stainless.
