Where to get my Bk14 ?

Knifehog has prices pretty close to Tomars, and they have free shipping over 60 dollars. Good for multiple knife purchases.

I'm loyal to Tomars and I'll tell you why:

Not only do they have good prices and lightning fast shipping, but their customer service is EXCELLENT.

I bought a set of BK-11 micarta scales from Tomars and there was a goof at KaBar. The scales were mismatched. They were scales for the same side of the knife.

So I emailed Tomars and told them about the issue and I was told to send them back for a replacement.

The day I sent them back, I got home and had an email from Tomars informing me they had already shipped my replacement! There was no way they could have known I had just put them in the mail. They just automatically mailed my replacement on good faith.

THAT is good customer service!

So that's why I'll be buying all my BK&T's from Tomars, even if somone else might have a better deal.

>>> Edit to add:

I just bought a BK-14 from Tomars and got it in the mail about a week ago, so as far as I know, they do indeed have them in stock.

We are not allowed to deal spot, or list links or websites to other places unless they are paid members here. Basically im saying im not allowed to tell you where i think the best place to get one is.....

Tomars is a paid member.... But unless he recently changed it, Tomars does not ship with insurance Even though he over charges on shipping and we pay enough for it, If the knife is lost in the mail they will not replace or refund the price you paid unless or until the USPS has made it right with them or reinbursed them first, which usps will not since there is no insurance.... He does have good prices but call and make sure he gets insurance on your package.

Wolf... IMO....they sent you the wrong item (not a sign of good service) .... And its not excellent of them to fix the problem, IMO its the only thing to do. The fact he didnt wait is of no concern when the item in question is of no value by itself.

i've never had any problems with tomars the shipping is a bit high but then they move em out fast!! but i sense not everyone has had a great experince!?

Yes this is correct, but im 1 in a million it seems so dont let it deter you just ask for insurance up front on the package and im sure things will be great.

Personally, I don't order knives online unless it is something GPknives doesn't carry, like the Becker ESEE kitchen knives. Otherwise I just drive my happy tail over and pick it up in person.

Dale at The Knife Connection is always my first place I go to to buy a knife. Great prices, extremely fast shipping, what's not to like?

I agree with worldwood. I've had other places ship an exchange item when there is something wrong with the first on the same day I tell them I want to exchange it, before I've had a chance to ship the first one back. They have your billing info and can just bill you for the other item if you don't return the first.

The only other paid member that I know of that sells the BK14 is 42blades. He inspects all of the knives he gets in so you likely won't get a bad product in the first place. He's also pretty active on BFC. http://www.baryonyxknife.com/bk14eskabar.html Another cool thing is that he has a lot of "special grade" offers (thought not on the BK14) where they take a product that's a good value but might be a little rough around the edges and from a nominal fee will clean it up and reprofile the edge.

I can't tell you where I usually get my knives because, as worldwood said, deal spotting is against the rules and we can't suggest places to get products or services unless those people are paid members of BFC.

Tomars was a good deal for me. But there is always more than one way to skin a cat....with a Becker..lol

I go with tomars usually because I have money in my paypal that's burning a hole in my pocket. A lot of knife places stopped accepting paypal payments.
