Where to get my Bk14 ?

I live within driving distance of GPKnives or Grand Prairie Knives, a great knife store. I may be able to get the product for slightly less elsewhere, but I think I'll spend my $$ at a knife store. If they didn't exist, I would order online from a knife store (probably Tomars) and not a place that sells CDs and mp3s.

GPKnives is a family business and they care about what they sell.

I order from places which take the Military Star Card. Had the card for years and love using it. Of course, there aren't that many places which accept the card so, buying whatever knife I want is "hit or miss"

I agree with the poster regarding insurance as well. Before I place an order, I'll call first and ask if the shipping includes insurance, and if not, how much more. Seeing as many knives can be shipped via Priority Mail Box, for less than $15.00, even as low as $6.00 with the small box and insured for $200.00 (folders fit in the small box), I see no reason why some internet stores charge such exorbitant shipping fees, provide no insurance, and leave one with holding the bag if the knife is lost in transit, or just plain stolen. Lastly, I ask how they ship...by this I mean, and based on a recent incident, received a new ESEE-3 shipped in a plain paper envelope from one internet dealer which left me livid, especially since one of the scales as obviously damaged in transit. ESEE made it right, NOT the dealer, and if a dealer cannot take the time, or care enough about their customers that they ship their knives in flimsy paper envelopes, then I don't need to do business with them anymore.

So, for me, the three things that are important to me before I click the buy button on the internet:

1. Price
2. Insured shipping, with secure protective packaging
3. Fair shipping charges (what's fair to me, not what they think is fair for them).

Jon, where you at? I'm in Downtown STL, I'm over at GPKnives all the time. Almost worked there, kind of glad for my wallet that I don't.

If you find time, please message me the retailer so I can avoid them (if you don't feel like posting it here)
