Anyone have a good source for stabilized curly birch? My current supplier is out of stock, and it seems he will be for a while. I'm also hoping to find scales/blocks that are stabilized all the way through, I've noticed that the blocks I've been getting are only partially penetrated with resin, which is less than idea. thanks!

I have not been able to get any good figured Masur or Karelian Birch for a while.
If you find some that has not been stabilized, send it to K&G for stabilizing.
It is one of the woods that is super easy to stabilize and turns out great when done correctly.

I bought some off Exotic Burl on ebay. He was posting on a knifemakers thread on facebook. The stabilization is very strong and the cut looks very nice.

I could not agree with Mark more.
Don't look for "stabilized curly birch."
Just find your own birch - which would be much easier - then send it to K and G to have it stabilized.

Gilmer wood has a couple of pieces of masur birch left. Gilmerwood.com
