Where to learn metallurgy?

Hey all,

I'm a new knife maker (have yet to finish a knife I'm proud of, lol) and want to know more about the science behind knives. As in the types of metals, heat treating, crystals and grains, etc.

Are there any sites that could be recommended to me? If there are any books that I should get on the subject(s) I'd appreciate that too.
