Where to look for a nice katana?

That Condor thing is also not a Katana. Appart from the Saya being leather, totally 'tacticool' tsuka and a black blade, its more of a Ko-Katana being 20 inches blade length.. OP can you specify if you actually want a Katana or a katana shaped sword?

where is this thing you are referring to. My googlefoo is not finding it

* Nevermind, i found it

I had a hanwei TacWac... one of my favorite blade. It's GREAT quality

I like my AK47 a lot better, but it's also 3 times the price

Do a search for Musashi 1060 you should be able to get what your looking for at around $79.

I have a Musashi Bamboo Katana. It's a very good quality blade for the price. Worth a lot more than the $90 shipped that i payed.

It's differentially hardened with a real hamon

i have 2 1060 musashi katanas.they cant be beat for the price.

My Bamboo is 1060. I haven't done a LOT of cutting with it, but i've done some cardboard cutting, and it's awesome. I very much assumed that it would take a set in the edge cutting through 10 layers of cardboard, but it didn't

ive cut boxes, pringle cans, pool noodles, milk cartons, and all kinds of water bottles, thick ones too.and mine are still undamged.
ive aslo hit my wooden stand a couple times with no problems.

So I'm looking for a cool sword. Katana specifically. Problem is, Ihave no clue where to look for one. Can someone point me into the right direction? Like300 bucks, looks nice. Just for show (and maybe to intimidate my friends/brother lol)

Let us know what you go with

I got the Musashi 1060 Carbon Steel Best Miyamoto Sword, and like all the reviews say, it's pretty awesome for a $79.99 blade. What am I going to do with it? I have no idea, but I love it. I could not imagine a better blade for this price.

you will love that sword, assuming you got one from Trueswords. The ones they have in stock have the same blade as the Bamboo Warrior. It is differentially hardened with a 55-57 HRC edge.

JPD, you'll love yours for sure. The fit and finish of the Bamboo Warrior is as good as several other swords i've purchased for 3-4 times the price

Ironically , I was originally shopping for an inexpensive damascus sword and could only find Shinwa made swords. Their product descriptions are vague, no mention of tang length or steel.
I found this thread and saw your post about the Bamboo Warrior so I ordered it.

I'll have to wait on the damascus sword, but if you can recommend others in that price range, I'd appreciate it.

I did get it from trueswords, and it does have the DH blade. It blows my mind you can buy this thing for that low of a price. I considered that folded damascus one you linked to, but it's out of stock.

Well, i'm going to go ahead and clarify that i'm reluctant to recommend masahiro. Unlike Musashi, their quality control is hit or miss. If you get a good one, they're fantastic, but on occasion, one will slip through the cracks and will have a bit lower fit or finish quality. The good side of that is that TrueSwords will exchange a bad one out at zero cost to you.

Also, there really aren't many good options in that price range. Musashi and masahiro are about it.

I was thinking of getting a Cold Steel Warrior series. Any thoughts? I was hoping to keep it in the house as a secondary type home defense...
