When I make a knife, I simply print out my design and glue it directly to the steel.

One more that hasn't been mentioned, if you search for Bob Loveless Living on the Edge, you can download a pdf with many of his knives photographed against graph paper.

Yes, it's safe to assume 0.25" graph paper.

Check out the Loveless tutorial by David Sharp. There is a step by step WIP for several Loveless styles. I think yours is 10" hollow.
