I do want to do my own heating at sometime but right now with the lack of equipment, money and knowledge I'm looking for a place to send my knives out to right now until I get the stuff I need to get started on doing my own heat treating.

About what is the avg cost of getting this done?

You did not say what types of steel you are using but stainless and high alloy should go to Paul Bos. Cryo treatment as part of heattreat and every bblade I have sent has been RC. Paul Bos - www.bucknives.com and on the right blue bar is "Paul Bos Heat-Treating"

If you're only talking about tool steels or simple HC steels, most knifemakers, including myself, could do it for you. Send me an email of what you had in mind and I'll give you an idea of $$ we're talking about.
Thanks,
Scott
