Do any of you guys buy ammo online and if so where?

Looking mainly for 45acp plinking ammo.

Who has the best prices?

TIA guys!!:)

lee, try this one, i have been referred here by several folks:

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemListing.aspx?catid=104

looks pretty good, you can also try you local law enforcement suppliers, lawmens and arrington/streicher, i have not been a huge fan of buying ammo on line, just because, well thats just me.

i suppose that it would not be a problem, and i am not a big fan of buying weapons or ammo at gun shows, unless i know the person well that i am buying from.

that cheaper than dirt looks pretty good.

your local gun shops, if you know them well are usually pretty good sources as well, a lot of them are pretty competitive with prices as well.

also one last pointer, i have found that wally world is the best place to buy, prices are excellent if they have it in stock, have not bought much .45 there, but prices on other ammo has been great.

I absolutely 100% refuse to buy anything from cheaperthandirt anymore. After Obama got elected they shot their prices up by 500%, very literally. I'm talking on election night, the price gouging was INSANE. They then jacked up the "retail" cost by HUGE margins (which is illegal) and listed ridiculous things like "50% savings". What's funny is, they screwed up when they first jacked up their prices and didn't change the "savings" equation. So it said something like, "savings, -51%". LOL at - 51% savings.

Now their prices have normalized, but I'll never buy a thing from them again. That's just my opinion on it though.

DO NOT USE CHEAPER THAN DIRT!!!!!!!!!

They could be some of the worst offenders of price gouging I have ever seen. And to top it off they would list retail prices of 2-3x what the actual retail price was. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!

230grains, glad you saw it as well. Nice avatar too.

As previously stated by Soulrack223 Ammunition To Go. Doubletap is also a great place to go. Mike at Doubletap has some serious Loadings and they are Accurate too.

good heads up on the cheaper than dirt site, i will eliminate them from my bookmarks as well, did you guys write them to complain or let them know that they had been caught?

Their indiscretions were pretty well covered on many of the online gun forums so word got out about them pretty quick during the recent race for all things gun related. I warned those I knew not to use them and left it at that. Never wrote to them, don't really care to have any further interaction with them. I had another problem with them before the election last year and came to the conclusion that their personnel could not be helped to begin with.

i have used sportsmans guide before. they are pretty good an have an adequate selection of different loads.

10 dash four jdraizor, i have heard great things about the ammoman cat as well, i just retired from 30 years in le work and had lost a lot of my commercial ammo sites, however i did not use them very much, because ammo was fairly cheap and easily found in law enforcement circles, i still retain all of those and they are my go to people for the toys and tools that go bang. i am glad that this thread was started because there is nothing that i despise more than someone that is dishonest and that is what the cheaper than dirt crowd was doing, essentially.

thanks for the heads up again!!!

I train/plink with Lawman 230g FMJ (and carry the 230g Gold Dot JHP version), and generally buy it by the case from Ammoman, but his (and everyone else's) stock has been hard to come by in the last year or so.

Cheaper Than Dirt, well, isn't, and they suck in a dozen ways. Buyer beware.

Double Tap are good people.

YMMV.

I will add a +1 for Georgia Arms as well. I have picked up some of their ammo at local gun shows from their booth and they are top notch.
