Where was it made?

It is a USA Schrade 897 pattern, but I don't recognize the symbol on the 100th anniversary etch. If someone does and can give me an organization name, we might get close on the date.

Looks like their 100th anniversary was 23FEB2005. Wonder what that means to the knife; made in advance??

The seller, who has proven reliable for the 3 years I've dealt with him, claims it's from the factory. I will write him!

You're too fast for me Charlie. I just don't move as well as I once did. Sigh.

this seller also has a "95th Anniversary" knife listed that differs quite a bit from the Official 95th Anniversary knife that I have.

Close, but no cigar in my opinion - more of the left-overs from the room(a very large room I'm told) that contained all the "quality control rejects" and the knives sent in for repairs, etc., I suspect.

It's too bad really that Schrade didn't just scrap all these knives that are now surfacing.

I was thinking of bidding on that 95th anniversary too, Del!
How does it differ??

Sorry Bill, I'm posing questions and firing back answers as I find them! I guess that's rude; I should wait for everyone to get to them!

No problem, and not rude at all, Charlie...I was just kidding a bit.
I'm going to learn to be quicker here on the information Autobahn. :D
Del is pretty good at this stuff for sure.

Bill

So Del, it looks like the shield, and the engraving on the bolsters is missing! Is this valid production that you know of? Anyone?

In my opinion(and, it is worth as much as you have paid, or less!) the knife on e bay IS NOT a true Schrade 95th Anniversary knife!

yes, it may be a Schrade
yes, it may have etching on the blade

but, just stop and think for a moment - some 7 years after this knife was produced(officially, and in very limited numbers) by Schrade, this knife "surfaces" - no shield, no serial numbers, no glass dome, no papers, etc., etc.

if you want the knife, buy it

BUT, don't buy it thinking you are getting a GENUINE Schrade 95th Anniversary knife(and, certainly not for much less than around $400.00!!)

I see there is a lot more missing than I thought! I guess I'll just pass! Thanks for your opinions!!
