Where were you the FIRST time you heard of BUSSE?

I was at my brother in laws computer at work using stumble upon in 2008. I thought "I can't afford THAT much for ONE knife that I probably won't use because it's so expensive!"(not knowing anything about the steel). I clicked "I like it" for future research and forgot about it. Then again a couple of months later he was showing me Blade Forums (he got really ghey into shaving and has to study EVERYTHING he is into. He was trying to show me how "cool" shaving with a straight razor is but I HATE shaving so :barf:; it takes long enough as it is without having to add the ritual and maintenance). When he went to the afternoon meeting I backed out of the shaving forum and was just checking out the forum page and saw the Busse forum. At the time I didn't remember my previous encounter and had never seen the name anywhere else so I googled the name and found the website...again and thought "There must be something to these knives if there is a forum JUST for them on BF." So, I bookmarked the site for future research. My brother in law got transferred to Bayonne and I no longer had access to that computer (plus the IT geek wiped all the data on it anyway:rolleyes:. Fast forward to April last year; I was looking around online for reviews because I wanted to buy a new machete and stumbled across KnifeTest dot com. His test of the FFBM got me interested so I started doing the research that I didn't remember I wanted to do three years ago. I found BF (again) and when I (finally) found the company store (again) I remembered the website and was glad that i finally did the digging. I got a Rodent Solution first (sold it since) then a Skeleton Key (still EDC it) and a B10. I was really hooked when I read Jerry's letter describing INFI and talking about it's virtues.:D Reading everyone's posts I might have seen a piece in a Shomer Tec catalog back in the nineties (I did have a couple that I WISHED I could afford to order ANYTHING from ;) I was only in High School at the time ) or any number of gun magazines, things are a bit fuzzy that far back for me :D.

Where was I??? ...In the neighborhood of financial stability. That didn't last long... :D:D ;)

Researching Cold Steel and looking for user reviews...which led me to BladeForums...which led me to Busse...luckily before I bought any CS.

At the Indy 1500 when Mike tried to get me to buy one. I couldn't imagine paying over $200 for a knife and flat out refused...wish I would have listened to him. My how times (and prices) have changed!!

First time I heard of them was probably on bladeforums or knifeforums when google took me to a link dicussing indestructible knives. Then knifetests.com, saw the videos, and was sold. Stumbled upon badmojo, bussecollector, the site, and the company store.

Then Mike, at a 1500.......persuaded....... me.

Many, many moons ago I stumbled across huge overbuilt knives while at Knob Creek. I handled a few and man were they way too big for my young self. I had a Spyderco or Benchmade in my pocket that handled all the chores a youth encountered on the daily. So, truly not knowing what I was seeing I never even thought to buy one. I did not even have my first job so the prices were wicked high for me at that time. Had I known then what I know now, my collection would be envious. I don't remember just how long ago this was, but I think it was north of 15 years ago. Funny thing is I did not obtain my 1st Busse till Blade 2011. What???, I know. Life plays out for me in odd ways. To be honest, a main reason that I did not get into knives at that time was my huge interest is class 3 firearms.

At the Ventura CA gun show. I don't remember the year, but it was before INFI. I vaguely remember that some of the blades were still colored from tempering.
I thought that was kind of odd.

I was looking for the "end all" camp knife, so I rationalized my way into ordering a Battle Rat.

Thanks to my stupendous incredible willpower and restraint, I never bought another knife. . . :D

Same here, by way of Swamp Rat.
I did, and will continue to buy CS as it suits me though. I like disposable knives in multiple locations.;)

At Blade 2011 when I saw the "Trough" security lining up for giveaways and I thought WTF. Then I watched, got elbowed in the face and caught a card for a 1 of 12 RMD Prototype.

Got into collecting autos again 3 years ago after chasing childhood nostalgia with my first memories of my NATO knife, got a bunch of autos and realized the blades sucked for cutting and were unstable. Just plain sucked for anything you could use it for. Did more research and found out about busse knives, got a rat man du, started using it last year, fell in love. After buying and using pretty much every brand knife I promised myself i was only going to buy ones that i will use and keep forever. And now I have about 25 busses and growing! Needless to say my auto collection is long gone... And I will never buy another brand knife again. They just don't have the qualities of infi sharpness and easy to re-sharpen characteristics I've ever seen. Simply the best from experience. All the different ones are different sizes for different tasks, different tools for different jobs, or at least that's what I keep tellin the wife ;)

I was right where I am now . Sitting at my desk , looking up "hard use knives" on the computer and stumbled across Busse . One of my more expensive Google searches !

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

It was the early 90's, I saw a small table set up at a gun show in Vegas, pretty sure it was one of the SOF conventions back then. All the straight handles were laying on the table and I fell in love with the Badger Attack. It was a good chunk of change back then, but I had to have it. It had the Busse logo on the spine and in a moment of weakness I made a trade with Mulder. At least it resides in one of the most impressive SHBA collections I have ever seen!

Before I joined BF,I was reading a survival blog & they mentioned a "Battle Mistress".I thought that was an odd name for a knife,so I read on.It turned out to be a very positive review.I came here(BFC) & that's all she wrote.:)

I only currently have one Busse,a leaner meaner. It's my favorite knife in that size.

I wanted a good camp knife few years back and was looking at reviews of the Tom Brown Tracker on some random forum. One of the posters stated that if he's going to spend $300 on a knife anyway, then he might as well just get a Busse. And so began the addiction.. Busse knives actually led me to blade forums and the subsequent acquisition of every knife I now own. Or.. i guess it could have been the Tracker lmaoo.

i was learning about different knife steels and found knifetest.com. after watching noss break all my favorite knives i saw the scrapper6 video and was hooked, before i even found busse. then i saw the ffbm video. "my god" i thought. i've been on this forum everyday since
